I have noticed people using the term "healthy assasin" wrong.

I have seen posts saying champs like rengar are healthy where's zed is unhealthy. I think the complete opposite.

Rengar was designed terribly. Because he lacked an escape, he was given the gift of amazing ad scaling and massive damage as well as point and click abilities and stealth (gifts that zed does not have). This led to massive problems, balance wise. When rengar was in his prime, he could delete squishies in .1 seconds with 0 counterplay. This led to massive nerfs and an eventual rework.

When zed is strong (right now) he still has counterplay. You can still item 3140 his ult and you can still react to his burst when he ults. Zed laughes and then jumps in the air when he ults , the only time rengar laughes is when he is spamming it on your body. So even when zed is strong, he has his weaknesses.

So do you still think rengar is healthy And zed has 0 counterplay?

I've actually seen Talon as the key example of a player picked "healthy assassin", not Rengar.

Zed isn't considered healthy because he has both an oppressive and safe laning phase, where the player has to be really dumb to not at least break even with anyone. Additionally, as soon as he hits 6, that ult NEEDS itemization to counter against almost anyone (as opposed to other item countered ults, such as WW and Malzehar who can get knocked out of the ult) With Zed, there's few options to stop a Zed from just mashing out his abilities and teleporting away, leaving you to just sit there and accept your inevitable gibbing when the clock runs out. Even if you accept the argument that item counters make him balanced, it's still not very fair that a champ, just by existing forces mages to rush Zhonias (which no one will have at level 6) or QSS, which isn't a very big power boost and provides nothing in defense for anything but the bonus damage in his passive.

People don't care about Zed's Assassinations, they care about his incredible laning that makes it harder to shut him down then a guy who builds strait AD should be, what people want is for him to be easier to shut down, by removing his extreamly safe farming, probably by making his shurikens either single target or champion only,

The difference between healthy or not is simply this:

If a champ needs to commit medium to a great deal of resource to instantly delete somebody, and any type of escape option only appears after you've succeed in your job, then you're healthy.

Otherwise, you ain't.

In Zed's case, he has 2 escapes, although his burst is delayed and can be removed, the actual items that do the removal either costs too much to be considered a viable countering option or lacks build path variety meaning you would waste an item slot just for an active and some no so impressive stats. Zed isn't considered healthy due to a combination of a few issues, not just those of his own.

So 50 armor, 120 ap, and a stasis are useless?

Useless? No it's not but It costs 3300 gold.

If you're already pwning Zed or everybody else then you don't need it anyways, however under normal circumstances, it's not something you can simply get early every single game.

Well, problem is your question implies we're talking about present Rengar (who is presented as healthy), but only talked about his release form and admitted he was reworked.

So it leads to some confusion, because you're not talking about present Rengar at all, so we got no context. By talking about his powerful past, you're subtly prodding us to say he's currently unhealthy without making us consider how he actually is right now.

That's just not fair, OP.
