Account buying is an enormous problem in D5

Title. I went on a 4game loss streak where I had players blatantly ADMITTING to having bought their accounts, "Haha yeh I bought this shiz fr lyke 50 bucks man, report me I dOnT cArE", I report them, and they MIRACULOUSLY do not get banned. I look at their history and it's literally feeding on every single game.

It's actually a vicious cycle. Master tier players will buy Plat accounts for $20, grind it up to D5, and then sell it for $100. Then they log into their other Plat account and smash the same players that they just sold the other account to. All the while, innocent D5 players have their games ruined. Do you see how toxic that is?

Smurfing in low elo is a bit of a problem. I remember hating it when I was silver, havingto face against obvious smurfs. However, to climb in the first place, you need to be better than everybody in your current ELO anyways, so it's kinda like: you're going to have to be able to beat the smurfs here and there with the help of your team if you really want to climb. However, in higher elo, when players REVERSE smurf by buying cheap D5 accounts on Ebay, the team they get placed on automatically loses. There's no counterplay there. No matter how good you are, the feeding bought account player will lose the game for you. In the other situation, you could potentially beat the smurf yourself. To summarize, I think that allowing high elo players TO HAND LEVEL FROM SCRATCH new accounts has arguments that it should be allowed, and that is debatable, however, there is NO argument for allowing high elo accounts to be bought and have games ruined by new/unskilled players who spent 3 days paycheck on a D5 account.

It's actually really messed up. I know Riot can tell our IPs. And they can tell when somebody is hard feeding. I report them for it, they admit to it, and even then I get no penalty issued notices? Three times THEY ADMITTED to it after ruining my games, and NOTHING. I think that is beyond unacceptable. I also think that Riot should be doing their job and actually systematically weeding out these accounts and permabanning them. With IP tracing, I KNOW it would be INCREDIBLY simple to do it.

Good luck out there guys. It's a jungle. [vlad-salute]

Edit: D5 = P2-D4, although this is probably affecting lower reaches of Plat as well

If there were no smurf accounts, there'd be no boosted accounts to sell. Smurfing and Boosting are two sides of the same problem.

"Smurfing in low ELOs is a bit of a problem" - more than "a bit". The same problem happening in a higher ELO doesn't make it a bigger problem.

Boosted accounts aren't a problem in p2-d4 area. Accounts are boosted to d5 (now d4) mmr range and then quickly fall into mid and low plat mmr. The accounts you see staying in d5 mmr aren't boosted accounts, they are regular d5 players trying to troll you by pretending they bought the account.

I mean,

if smurfs don't get banned for smurfing when playing in low elo, why should smurfs get banned if they are bronzes playing in diamond elo?

They are smurfing too.

That's what happens if you are smurfing in either case. Trust me, silver players feel the same when they get stomped by that 1 dude that's high diamond.

You reap what you sow.

Even if they do ban them, they'd probably just go buy another one so it's not like it really stops much.

Also wat is this D5 u spek of? xD

so... what makes you think that they are even telling the truth about them buying their account? "they are feeding on every single game" and by feeding you mean what exactly? 0/10? 0/5? 0/2? like what do you categorize "feeding" as? 0/10/0 is vastly different than 0/10/15.

just because someone tells you something that doesn't make it truth. I can tell you I am Donald Trump, so am I really the president of USA? I can say I am high as all heck after losing a game does that actually mean I am truly high?

Sorry bro. According to boards, Silver players are being held back by Riot games and deserve Diamond. They simply need to buy diamond accounts to fix their matchmaking. Also doesn't matter if they feed every single game, cuz forced 50% win rate amirite? Not like they'll quickly drop back to silver, nope.

As I tell every attempted rank shamer... plat and diamond accounts are 20-30 bucks.

I think fake accounts gets banned in batches, every update or so, not separately.

Hidden economy, and probably welcomed.
