Why is Anivia strong all of the sudden?

idk why i dont think she recieved anything but nerfs but suddenly in my games anivia is wrecking hard.

Why did this pop up all the sudden?

She's always been pretty strong, if underplayed. However, recent changes to masteries and items favour her.

Rod of Ages, Archangel's Staff, and Liandry's Torment were buffed
She synergizes well with Thunderlord's Decree and Deathfire Touch
Meditation gives her decent mana regeneration even if she doesn't build mana regeneration
Anivia is capable of kiting attack-speed dependent champions and reducing their DPS, many of which have gained popularity due to Guinsoo's Rageblade and the synergy between Fervor of Battle and Sated Devourer.

^In a nutshell. Same kinda thing with Brand (though some were sort of aware already) and Swain (to a lesser extent) Certainly doesn't help when you have Xpeke showcasing her every game @ worlds

probably because of the preseason changes, regardless she was always strong, but her lack of mobility is what kept her at bay. try her, i can literally take a quarter of someone health, even half of it with 2 items with qe combo, also she has the best wave clear + everything the guy said above me pushed her into the to strong catergory.
