The focus on snowball-oriented gameplay is making the game really boring to play.

As nice as it must be for the 1 or 2 people who get fed (though when it's me it's just as boring but that's me) it's ridiculously fucking boring to have your Mid/Top/Jungle/ADC not know what the fuck is going on and feed someone else unstoppably. What will you do against the fed champion? Kill them? They have a team. Oh, what's that? Not true if they have 2 feeders to your 1? Huh. So it's more about how many feeders there are and less about the thought you put into anything you do. Even if you did engage them, they will outright outstat you and unless you're far better (2+ divisions higher) than they are, they will win the all-in.

Is it just me or is LoL at an all-time low for skill expression? It's "do some cheesy thing to get a kill n' you win the lane without interacting with the opposing laner in any way!" Do I just, like, play something else? I thought LoL was a strategic MOBA, not a sad excuse for one.

league continually drifts away from Strategy and critical thinking and more towards just blowing up the other person before they can do it to you. The new runes, dragons, and item changes all contribute to a massive damage creep that makes the team fights last a couple seconds. Everything is cookie cutter and it's common to see the same champions every single game.

I'd say if you are disheartened and are looking for a strategic moba similiar to old league I suggest getting warcraft 3 reforged and playing on bnet. Old league and dota came from Wc3 and the MOBAs on there are far more strategic oriented due to the main player base playing an RTS game. Plus your developers aremore open to feedback because they are competing with other developers to make their game popular and receive donations.

The game lost its identity. Its that simple. I have played when it was beta. By now most people should be use to knowing there views and thoughts don't matter on the forms. I am more shocked that every post does not does have a P.S. at the end of it saying

"we know you don't care" because of how many years the game has been around.

I just play for the hell of it. I don't work hard to win, or help because its not worth. Why play then? Because I can, and because its something to do while waiting for downloads to finish.

It was there choice to change things to the extreme. over just keeping things balanced. They thought the game would be better if it was only 28 mins a match, but they did not think about other things in the game that would be affected like jungle having to gank every min, or having 4 people gank, and then do drag.

They also did not think about those champions that need a very late game in order to be affective.

You can cry about those 60 min matches, and those 20 min lane phases from back in the day, but those long games made it all about strategy, and timing. it was never about who could click burst the fastest.

At least you all have the character story's. That's really the only pillars holding interest in the game.

As it stands TERA is a better use of your time if you want to get good at something...and TERA is absolutely terrible now compared to what it used to be.

I thought I'd never go back to that game with the state its in, but League had to prove me wrong.

you mean oh the enemy has 5 kills already? (internaly: "that might be gg") few minutes later ummmm that enemy has 10+ kills and my botlane is feeding again..

I believe the snowball type of game and shorter duration reveals a stark reality of solo ranked: solo ranked is a flawed concept. Making five random people queue up and try to cooperate without any voice comms or premade strategies was always ingredients for failure. We knew this from day one when solo ranked was made. Dynamic queue was meant to be a way to bring the experience closer to competitive, but the players cried and so Riot was forced to bring it back.

Solo queue is not the real League of Legends. It is from a consumer's point of view since most people play solo and not 5v5 premades or competitive. But the game design of 5v5 Summoner Rift is not favorable to random queues. So in a way, it is useless to criticize the current state of the game because a lot of the ails you guys are feeling are fixed when teams have coordinated players. As we saw at Worlds, games didn't kick off into fight fiestas until 25 mins into the game, or even up to 40. The dragon souls were not made for us. They were made to force pro teams into shorter games for the sake of esports.

If you want to blame anything on the current state of League, blame it on Riot's dedication to two things: esports and China's game focus on quick games.

Snowball is fine. In fact its awesome so that individual players can have impact on the game.

What is not fine is the state of matchmaking. Snowballing is toxic when players are unevenly matched up by a fucking bonkers obviously broken system.

Then you end up with the 10/1 fio in the first 6 minutes getting pentas at 15 minutes. Riot matched a challenger against a bronze toplaner.

Snowball isn't the issue, players in elo they don't belong in is the issue. The games are so random its actually unplayable. Its exactly how it was last season.

Until they get rid of the forced 50% winrate to make their stats look good, matching will be fucked. Better players are punished with worse teammates, don't ask me why, its just how it works.

Play better, get fucked.

Fastest win I have had was 17 mins. Fastest loss 15 min. Surrender does save the trouble over fighting a fed yasu or ekko.

its been like this always with mobas. Yes, its a tactical tower defense game, and the best bet to win is to have nobody protecting enemy towers. The way the game is, the limitations of major archetypes (meat shield with engage/cc, melee carry, assassin, ranged carry, burst mage, battle mage, and support) means that ranged carries always have an advantage when they have items in the ability to dish out high dps from range. This mandates an engage tank to both protect that carry and help it secure kills. It also mandates a dedicated support to peel/heal the carry and buff him as needed. What does this leave? a burst mage/control mage is awesome for bursting down priority targets, and the final is a bruiser/jugg who can 1v2-1v3 and cleanup.

Given all this, the game was a lot slower. Even in soloq games could go 10-15 min without first blood, and it was a slow drag many times. Two tanks just farming up top, junglers outwitting each other, mid laners trying to farm for teamfight, risking kills on when the assurance was like 70%+ for the kill, and bot lane just farming up.

Suddenly, teamfights at like 20 min instead of at like 12-15. Players now take about 10 minutes to get accustomed to teamfighting with each other, so they really know their win condition and 'how to win' by like 30-35 min. Nother 5 min to actually close the game.

This meta is way better.

I think the reason the game became so snowball is because people don't like setting up a lead with good judgement and plays, only to end up losing because they can't hold on to the lead they worked so hard for

guys, only ARAM has snowball. le sigh. [slayer-jinx-wink]

Greenlightx1/5/2020, 6:40:53 AM1 votes

if there is not way to win early, then a team that has Nasus ,Ryze and Vayne in it, auto wins, also assassins would lose their place in the game, and tanks would be supreme, the game would be boring 45~60 minutes slug fist, which will result in frustration.

Ms Cougar1/5/2020, 12:28:15 PM1 votes

Not an all time low of skill expression. Skill is just as much as it ever was, but it now has less effect on the outcome unless it leads to you or a teammate insanely snowballing, but this has been the case for nearly two years now. It's not like classic league of legends, where teamfight combacks were common and games were less settled in the early game.

Since the massive boost to burst came from the new runes at the same time as new items, we have no tanks worthy of the name, just 'support tanks' who die from most assassins qwe+autos. Tanks in jungle or top are suicidal. People complained that tanks were too good, and they got made into unplayable garbage, save for suicide initiate support tanks.

I actually LIKE the increased early action, just wish it didn't lead to the game effectively ending in 10 minutes with 5-10 more of tedium with a forgone conclusion. It's not hard to stop this, just halving kill gold would go a long way to reducing early snowball power without stopping the action, but sadly it's league of snowball for two years straight.

Phishye1/7/2020, 4:59:43 PM1 votes

Disagree, this is that there is less snowball potential ever.Top has no impact, jungle is a smite machine that can loose you or win you the game depending on how well they smite. Then you got just 3 other persons to get fed and make impact in the game. Even then, if the enemy has a comp decent to stall till min 25, and they steal your drake because your jung is trash, then u lose the game because god bless 25% execute.
