why is there 2 hybrid items?

with making Trinity force only ad now. we only have to hybrid items. gunblade and rageblade. why on earth is there only two hybrid items? how many champions. in this game. use both AP and AD in their kits. probably around half or close to it. how many times do you get a champion with a spot in their abilities that says + 0 bonus damage or whatever. because its simply not viable to dedicate a spot in the item for AD or AP. it would be cool to see more hybrid items. 2 is just not enough. there is no build diversity. every hybrid champion now still build something like trinity force which i dont know why since it doesn't give AP anymor. you have two choices. if your champ isn't aa based. you just have 1. gunblade. there should be more hybrid items its just what my opinion is. some neat both AP/AD items with passives that go well with hybrid champs.

Its almost universally better for hybrids to itemize totally one way or another. "hybrid" is actually a relic from a much older design phsiloshpy where riot thought "every champion should be able to go AD or AP".

champions like jax are true hybrid. while others. just use AP to scale with some abilitis. like most champs. tristana. a lot of champs honestly. but even with jax. you build. rage blade. gunblade. and you just build the standrard AD items. you can go full retard and build ap which to some degree works fine but its just stupid. i wish you just had idk. 6 items in total dedicated to hybrid champs or like 4.

i mean before the buffs to guinsoo. i never build hybrid jax. just trinity force. and then either build damage or crit. which is okay just nowi ts way cheaper and faster to get a boost from the hybrid items since they synergize to well with him but i cant help it but it feels disconnected to have such a weird set of items built on one champ. i build bork sometimes or go tank.

Irelia isn't.

Eve is the champ that can build basically anything.

Ezreal KogMaw

Ezreal was not designed explicitly as a hybrid, nor is kog'maw still capable of hybrid.

I think hybrid on hit is kogs best build atm. Tbh

Maybe read their abilities on the wiki and then comment?

MissFortune is true hybrid. Her E is too good to be ignored with a pure AD build. But her AAs are too strong too to be ignored with an pure AP build.

Every champion should be able to go AP and AD... That is a good design philosophy.

RIP English.

Revert TriForce back into an AD/AP item, and you have your hybrid items back. You only really want 3 so you wouldn't have a damage nerf. The reason why there aren't many hybrid items is because you don't want a champion with 300 AD and 500 AP 2-hitting enemies with their double-scaling skills. If you want more hybrid items, then they'll probably nerf the existing ones down to maybe 20 AD and 30 AP.

Edit: Think about how much damage a hybrid Kog'Maw's ult would deal with 4 hybrid items (and maybe Rabadon's). Considering each item gives around 40 AD and 50-80 AP, that would be a lot of damage just at 49% hp. That would be about 220-240 AD and 440-600 AP including Rabadon's.

What we want is not for ridiculous amounts of damage, just a choice to make when choosing hybrid items. Rather than Hextech-Lich Bane every game as an AP assassin, we would like some variance in builds. The items could be something like simply a combination of item 1038 and item 1058 , with slightly increased stats and cost.

Build a bunch of Gunblades then. You already have decent base stats on it, and you don't want ridiculous damage.

Yeah. Good Idea. Stacking Items based around their abilities.

Yeah, I really want that 60% of ap on Wukong's W. Or the damage for Cait's net.

Nidalee Rengar cats can build ad or ap if they want to :D

DrMundo will build what he pleases; item 3194 item 3060 item 3116 item 3142 item 2045 item 3175

what about nashors?

Because for those who build the 'hybrid', it's usually for the effects, not the stats. Honestly, most of them are on on-hits, or weirdos like Akali.

Most champs have some AP/AD scalings purely so they can make use of dragon/baorn buffs I'm pretty sure
