I've been looking at the damage meters in the recent games, and one thing is fairly consistent, and that is, whoever is playing adc does the lowest damage throughout the game. Shouldn't adcs do the most damage?
I think they just take time to ramp up and game's are lasting too little time for them to get to those damage spikes.
ADC's strengths are limited by items purely But other lanes for example Darius, Akali, etc rely on their kit alone for their strengths You could go 0/5 on Darius but as long as you've got a black cleaver or trinity force you should be able to win the majority of 1 v 1's
Akali 0/5 with Hextech gunblade will win the majority of 1 v 1's
ADC rushing into IE will lose the majority of 1 v 1's
As an ADC main I'd say the problem isn't ADC's themselves.
It's the Supports...
Supports of all kind (Mage, Enchanter and Tank) do way too much damage in the early stages of the game.
Considering ADC defenses and base stats were murdered in 8.11 it's pretty hard to deal with.
