Riot...about warding...

...I get that Riot is trying to nerf vision. As it stood before, the winning team had the expendable gold to keep the jungle lit like a Christmas tree, making it extremely hard for the enemy to find a way to engage and make a comeback play. By nerfing invisible wards to make it so there's less of them out and about at one time, opponents can at least have some confidence that they aren't gonna be spotted as soon as they set foot outside of their base. Now since blue trinkets are quite strong, if you run into a blue ward, you hit it and split, which is fair enough.

HOWEVER: Vision options are currently too inflexible. Invisible trinks disappearing quickly isn't the worst, in all honesty, but for the love of (your god insert here) they take so long to recharge that, unless you have a warding item like a Sightstone, it feels almost impossible for players to make even somewhat noticeable contributions to warding as a whole, which I thought was one of the points to the warding changes. To boot, removing vision ward upgrades makes it so once we run out of inventory space, no one in the game is gonna have pink wards for the rest of the game. Sure, this helps assassins out since they use invisibility and they're also in a bad spot right now despite this anyway, but part of the counter play to a fed assassin is being able to see them before they insta-delete you, in my eyes. Also, I don't think pink wards have to be punished like invisible wards since they're...visible, and thus easier to remove. So I made this thread, similar to that Sona one I made a bit back, asking for some insight on these decisions with warding, but this time I ask that if a Rioter responds...can we please NOT try to attack him? (Seriously sorry about that if you read this, Meddler)

  1. Is there anything like true vision versions of the trinket side grades that could be implemented (for sweepers and wards) so teams can still use true vision when their inventories start to fill? Perhaps giving people weaker true vision options in comparison to the one you buy for 75?

1b) Even if we aren't getting true vision side grades, any possibility of new side grades of some kind?

  1. Are you concerned about how weak people feel the default yellow trinkets are, or is keeping the map darker in this fashion part of the plan?

  2. The side grades are only available at level 9, but they honestly feel like upgrades instead of side grades. Any plans to make the default versions a bit more appealing?

That's just about it.

Exactly the problem: The side grade follows you around as you clear wards. The default one stays in one remote spot. Even if it's safer for checking areas, it doesn't clear the ward, so most of the point is gone. You'd rather use a ward for the vision and the sweeper to clear, yet the side grade does the clearing part 200% better or more.
