Do you think they will cut support role?
Recent champion champion changes suggest Riot does not want support role anymore. E.g. they nerfed all aspects of Tahm except w damage, which is quite bad for a support, since you get kills you don't want. Lulu is also redesigned to be a solo lane champion. Tower changes as well. I have been thinking about it and perhaps I understand their goal. They want to change the game to 4v4 without supports.
Here is why:
Supports can do kill denial, which is bad for watching LCS games. People want continual action and see many kills. With less people, they can also decrease map size, so match lengths can be decreased to 15-30 min, with much more teamfights and kills. Riot does not want strategy or positioning because that is boring to watch, and many people does not understand it anyway. They can adjust the game around that, less gold for kills and shorter death times reduces risks, and people will do more fights even if they loose them. The audience will love that. They want virtual blood. But is this good for this game?
