The Mordekaiser And Darius Changes

Just completely read the changes. Deleted my whole spiel. These changes suck for Mordekaiser... Darius is also getting some heavy nerfs based off of his new passive ability. Rito needs to calm down with the nerf hammer.

Just let Mord's W work as usual in solo lanes and i will be happy.

It is cool that they want to give an incentive for going bot. It is not cool that they are punishing you for not going bot.

Before people downvote this for any reason. Remember that the changes mentioned are only the big "Movie Poster" changes. There's bound to be tons of other changes throughout their kits. As quoted IN THE ARTICLE (read these things people:)

Caveat: A lot of the following changes may sound like net buffs--and they generally are--but often times we didn't want to only add power, so we've shifted a lot of strength around to more focus these tanky melee carries on offering more unique identities with conditional power built on their range. You'll find more information in the patch notes, but we wanted to highlight our intentions here even if we aren’t going through the full changelist.

While they are overall buffs (and overall you cant say these champions were in the best spot), they arent just god tier buffs to make them unstoppable at least. Riot isn't crazy guys. They know other aspects need to be changed in these kits as well.

You must have missed the part where they said they plan on forcing him into a bot lane duo to be able to do damage.

I think you missed the part RIGHT BEFORE THAT.

"We’re trying Mordekaiser out as a duo lane juggernaut, intended to step up in lieu of a regular marksmen pick. "

"Creeping Death now only deals damage if Morde and his targeted ally stay near each other"

I honestly couldn't care any less about some gimmicky dragon. Sure it's a cool idea, gimmicky as hell, but what's the point if I'm not allowed to play my main champ in mid lane anymore.

As far as I read it, you can still play it in a solo lane. Put it on a minion?

Can't use it on a minion. Please read the changes more closely before shooting someone down over them. And as a Mordekaiser main, I'm honestly starting to wonder how many of the changes you read. The fact that his Q is now requires 3 hits do deal anywhere near his normal damage? The fact that they're nerfing his shield regen? The nerf to his MS that puts him in the bottom bracket for that stat?

Yes, he gets some cool toys to make up for the nerfs, but he's not exactly the solo lane AP bruiser that we've been playing him as for five years now, not to mention the new toys feel like cheap, brittle plastic ones that break after five minutes of play time.

Notice my complete edit of my paragraph? Yeah, I read the changes completely, then reverted what I had to say. They suck, and ALSO AS A MORDEKAISER MAIN, I'd appreciate it if Riot would not completely gut his damages, his ability to solo lane, and as a non-mobile champion - he really didn't need a MS nerf.

You'll hopefully notice that my post was done before your edit. I absolutely appreciate the edit and agree with your sentiments, though.

Apologies, my boards apparently weren't updated until later, and hadn't informed me of the comment until this morning. But yeah, I also just read the Darius changes. He's getting nerfed pretty heavily on some other aspects of his gameplay, solely based off of his passive rework. It appears Riot prefers the old "Give them a gimmick, then nerf them to shit" approach.

One of the issues here is that most people (myself included) have stopped trusting Riot when they push changes onto the PBE. Yes, Azir changes were mostly reverted (for a recent example). Yes, some things there have been pulled or softened before they made it to live. But the vast majority of changes are there to stay, with almost every tweak being to the numbers instead of changed functionality. Riot's not going to change Morde's W to something different, this is what they've decided he's going to do and players will have to deal with it. Skarner's not going to get a new passive for the same reason. It's Cassiopeia all over again.

So forgive me if I take these changes with a grain of salt, I care about these characters and would rather not see them gutted for the sake of a gimmick or buffed into overpowered-ness by un-asked-for changes, then gutted. Besides, community outcry is how we let Riot know which ideas we think are terrible and should not be implemented.

but it also makes his mid lane more viable as well

You must have missed the part where they said they plan on forcing him into a bot lane duo to be able to do damage.

Well that's just amazing now Darius can't be killed and can also do enough damage to solo your team with his dunk great one riot! :D
