seems fair to me.

They never said they were going to buff the item, they said they'd change it to make it a better option when facing Zed. The cooldown reduction on the passive is a universal buff against everyone so they nerfed the MR so mages wouldn't take a huge amount of collateral damage for a change aimed primarily at Zed.
What are you complaining about? If they hadn't reduced the MR you'd have made a thread asking Riot why they were nerfing AP carries for the crimes of an AD assassin.
Yeah I forgot how important that MR was against Zed, that must be the real reason people got QSS against him as well :/ .
Besides poor ole mages have it so hard right now, so you should be happy they are reducing the MR on one of the items that is supposed to help you against mages.
60 seconds off the cooldown is hugh. Might finally be worth buying again. Even now you still have to wait 4 minutes before you can use it again. What's about every 2 teamfights. Still the removal of 15 mr is kinda hugh but for marksmen it might be intressting since they don't really have a solid armor option right now. 
doesn't really count in my opinion and is way more suitable for AD caster marksmen than hypercarries. Shifting GA like this could actualy be healthy for the game.
Do you have a source for that quote? Or are you just taking a random change and making it look like that is the compensation buff?
