@Meddler @Repertoir Can we give Syndra a very tiny buff to the Scatter the Weak's range?

And I mean very tiny, like 5 units.

Currently if you try to do a max range Dark Sphere into Scatter the Weak the sphere won't be moved simply because the Scatter the Weak's range is by the skin of teeth too low.

I feel like the last buff to the E's range was meant to accomplish just that.

Huh, I actually thought we'd fixed that a few patches back. You've seen it occur recently I take it?

So syndra wont be getting any buffs ? even a little one ? cause her Winrate/Pickrate is pretty low and it makes me sad cause she is hot :(

Reduced W mana cost if anything. But i dont really thing she needs one. I do just fine.

Vistha Kai5 votes

She only needs little stuff like I said in the OP. Those are still mostly bugfixes.

Although they could at least tone down early Dark Sphere mana costs, because landing it is so unrewarding early.

Syndra needs a very small buff or two, but nothing big. If she's buffed too hard she'll be extremely overpowered since she's a good lane bully that scales extremely well into late game. Maybe fix her E and lower the mana cost on her Q a tiny bit is all she really needs.

I've had that happen to me! its so frustrating lol.

Yep I've had this a couple of times especially when the visual clearly touches the sphere. Although it could be me preemptively moving backwards after Q cast a cm or teemo's length backwards as it is only natural for me to move while casting spells as Syndra.

Vistha Kai1 votes

You can't cast E while moving, though.

I suppose you could fuck up the combo when running away, but I'm talking about walking towards enemies and not hitting Scatter the Weak on the ball.

LankPants1 votes

Still happens to me all the time.

Lol Wiki lists the range of her E at 700, wich could be outdated, but it's shorter than her Q at 800 range. I don't think the range does quite match up with max range Q and it often causes the combo to miss even when you stand still and cast Q-E at max range.

Vistha Kai1 votes

Remember ranges might be different, but Dark Sphere has it's own hitbox.

Practically speaking Q and E ranges are nearly the same except for the edge case (pun not intended).

LankPants1 votes

To me they feel about 25 odd range off.

The main reason I'd like to see larger increases is more to fix the W-E combo, which honestly has a lot of problems.

Vistha Kai2 votes

Honestly, WE is it's own kettle of fish.

Like using Scatter the Weak mid-Force of Will causes it to slow instead of stun.

Biffolo1 votes

Wait what the fuck. Are you serious?

Vistha Kai1 votes

Yes. If you Scatter the Weak a Dark Sphere that's in the middle of being thrown by Force of Will, it will fly whole stun distance then slow instead of stunning.

Not sure if that's a thing after the last change to the E, but it sure was annoying as fuck before.

Biffolo1 votes

How. What. Jesus christ. Im dumbfounded this has been a thing for a while, and very rarely gets mentioned or complained about. That's like a core thing for her.

Vistha Kai1 votes

Once you get used to that, it stops to really matter.

You only need to delay E for a fraction of a second.

On the other side I have no idea why would you waste Force of Will to get a sphere in place for a stun, if you could just spawn another ball.

Biffolo1 votes

It can be used to set up stuns on multiple people couldn't it? Or make it harder to dodge by widening the skillshot, due to there being 2 stun boxes as opposed to one.

Vistha Kai1 votes

That's an exception, I guess, but it rarely happens to me.

Vistha Kai12 votes

Thank you for your time, Meddler.

Yeah, that happened to me like 5 times durning one match yesterday.

I think I could possibly recreate it with a very high accuracy. The easiest way would be to Q outside of the range, so Syndra has to walk up and then E once she stops moving.

Your "huh" reminded me of Space God from Futurama when they used the Time Code

I just did some testing on this - I'm a Syndra main on LAN (diamond last season), so I know her pretty well. Here is a video showing what I noticed. While it is currently working, it could use a small QoL change.

Essentially, the issue is that the range just BARELY matches, and has absolutely 0 forgiveness. If you move backwards even a small bit, it won't fire. But more importantly, if you move perpendicular to the line between you and the orb, it will also not work because that's how circles work.

I've attached a crude MS paint drawing illustrating this. This happens A LOT because Syndra casts while moving.

While technically working as intended, it tends to create a lot of confusion because Syndra was moving for a tenth of a second between the two spells and that tiny difference in location (which usually isn't even enough show up client-side) causes a miss.

While on the topic of Syndra, can we please address her current balance? She's been gutted both directly and indirectly, at least during laning phase. DFG removal was an indirect nerf. Chalice nerfs. Base mana regen changes (which were ultimately a nerf to early game mana) and item regen mechanic changes (also a nerf in most cases). Q damage nerf. Damage-focused AP items were just nerfed (Rabs and void are both less gold efficient than before). MR/health/tanky items are about to get buffs.

Her early game has been absolutely gutted, to the point she can rarely make it to mid/late. There's a reason she's been near/at the bottom of the win-list for months now.

Her Q really needs a level 1 damage buff. Landing EVERY SINGLE ONE, she will oom before she kills anything. Seriously. Go try it. That's absolutely atrocious. 40 mana and it does less damage than her auto attack. It is pretty much the definition of a noob trap. If you are casting your Q at rank 1, you're mathematically losing. Give it 10 damage on the low end and it'd bring her back in balance.

Alternatively/additionally, you could look at lowering the mana cost of Q. All the in/direct mana nerfs have really hit her hard since literally her entire kit revolves around her being able to spam orbs. Since the skills rely on each other, mana changes were doubly/triply potent on her.

this^ and she needs to have a real passive before lvl 9

Calabok1 votes

why play favorites? If you buff her range then buff Brands range too then!

Vistha Kai1 votes

This thread is a borderline between G&B and Report a Bug, but I see you didn't even bother to read the very first sentence.

Calabok1 votes

Borderline or not, her range is too far anyways. I think it needs a nerf.
