Why does Ahri have to be a faceroll champ now?

Without the damage amp on Charm there isn't as much reason to use it now especially considering it's ridiculous mana cost. It's still useful yeah but not crucial to your combo. And the ability to land the slow CC consistently was a big part of what separated a good Ahri from a bad Ahri. All these changes do is weaken Ahri and much her a faceroll champion in terms of mechanics, it's not about landing your skills anymore but how long you can kite them while mashing your keyboard for damage.

But I guess Riot needs to have Ziggs/Orianna 50 minute stall fests back by nerfing every assassin possible. I mean there's no counterplay to a slow moving skillshot. (summoner 4 item 1001 Caitlyn Lucian item 3140 item 3102 item 3157 item 3222 item 3069 ).

I think most Ahri players would agree to take away her compensation buffs and return the damage amp. She can manage without DFG. All these changes do is hurt her late game (loss of 44%) and early kill potential whilst forcing her into an offmeta role that quite frankly is awful right now.

Most other champions don't have to always lead with their CC ability for a good trade. I completely get where you're coming from, but I don't feel it's bad if it isn't necessary and can be saved for important CC work.

If she is considered "faceroll" because her damage is primarily coming from 3 instead of all 4 of her abilities, that makes a ton of other champions "faceroll" as well, and they seem fine.

Don't fret, though; Riot is definitely keeping an eye on those who relied on DFG a lot.

I agree. I would like to use charm to CC when somebody jumps on me, or peel for my ADC.
