How to really reduce toxicity;

Remove all the unduly frustrating shit that's in the system. Fix the fact that games can start with only 9 players - either force the loading screen to wait a bit so that the DCed player has 3 minutes of grace to reconnect, or revamp the client so that you can get booted back into champ selection when somebody fails to connect. Remove Promos - they are horse shit. They don't give a 'rewarding feeling upon completion', no, they're simply a massive timesink and source of undue frustration - yes, your players are far more likely to be pissed off, irritable and toxic if they've continuously failed a promotion series - no, it is not abnormal for them to be that way and yes, chances are they're going to take it out on the people around them because we're human beings, and human beings do shit things, especially when pushed. Remove peoples ability to sit at division V of a tier for ages - you know that the period of grace from falling from the bottom of a tier encourages boosting and bad behaviour, hell, you don't even have to look at the data. Any child can tell you that having such a system in place will make Division Vs a freaking cesspool. The ability to mute the pings of a player needs to be provided, because some people just won't stfu with their stupidly incessant pings and it's hella annoying. Lastly, remove that annoying Summoners who follow the 'summoner code' win 27% more games 'fun fact'. These guys aren't winning more games because they're following the code, they're following the code BECAUSE THEY'RE WINNING GAMES. If you're having a pleasant experience then its far easier to be pleasant than if you're having a negative experience. It's not rocket science. ._.

No, being toxic does lose you more games. Raging and flaming is, at best, a distraction, and at worst, makes people stop trying their best to win. You will lose games because of this. Anyone who doesn't understand that is an idiot and someone I'd never want to work with in game or in real life. Yes, people are more likely to be toxic in games that they're losing. But lots of people choose to be toxic in even or winning games and even in losing games, being toxic often keeps you from seizing opportunities to come back because you're too busy telling everyone how much your top laner sucks.

Yeah, I agree with the last part. Too many times I've had that message appear only to have the first words from someone be "I ****d your mom last night, ****!". Does that mean they have a better chance of losing the game? Hell no. People who are full of themselves/choose to insult people can still win stuff. Donald Trump proves it quite well. DrMundo

And a loading signal during loading screen, to show your client hasn't crashed. Like the katarina from the shop. Toxic AF when I join the game and its about 7 minutes in.
