Do old people like me really belong in LoL anymore?

I am one of the oldest remaining players in League of Legends, hailing from S2 to now and only missing S4. I came from a different time where Riot was a small company and the game was only intended to be fun, money being an afterthought. This was a time where champions like SingedDrMundo were considered hilarious, awesomely unique and charming, instead of problematic ones. Edgy and humorless champions today like Taric Sion also had different personalities entirely played for laughs then.

Today what only matters to Riot is money and what caters to the thoughtless masses, the game having lost all its charm to corporate greed.

Today's Riot has made a sassy Star Dragon who says "boop" when he taps things, modeled little space helmets for the tiny, fuzzy goats you launch at people, and devoted a lot of time and resources in order to make a game mode and place almost a dozen champions into a reproduction of players' favorite childhood cartoons and then gave gifts to the heroes for saving the day. Or, to say all that's needed in two words: Beekeeper Singed.

But Riot has nothing humorous and charming anymore. Just edginess and greed.

It doens't sound like it's because you're an old player, but because you want "lolrandom" humor.

And then you go for the "Riot only wants money" argument and completely lost me.

well, it is true. No one would expect League of Legends to be a cash cow back in the day.

Now that it spins money the only thing Riot fears is obviously losing their flow of cash.

Riot is a business their goal from the start was to make money and grow. At the end of the day(and to make a fun game sure), just like any company they DO WANT money. If you aren't mature enough to accept this, control your own spending and enjoy a free to play game then maybe you would be bettwr off not playing.

If you dont enjoy something you don't need to be super dramatic on the forums about it just stop playing

That isn't true, many games start knowing they aren't making money but enjoy creating the game. Not saying those games last long or are successful, but to say every game starts to make money is not true.

Games don't start that way, companies do, their is a difference.

there, is not really a difference. A person who wants to open a grocery store is not going to open the grocery store and then hire people to sell food that they know wont make money. Their* goal is to sell something that could at least possibly make money from

I barely play as often as i use to. Can't find the appeal anymore

Unfortunately riot is trying to attract an even younger audience by making the game as fast and snowbally as possible.

Why would that matter? I self play since season 1. While I don't have as much fun as I had in season 1, which is probably because of nostalgia, I still play the game and still am excited about every change they do. Fact is that it doesn't matter since when you play, but if you still want to play. If you think that you don't belong into the game and have no fun anymore, then just quit until you want to play.
