Did Cinder really need that nerf?

Out of all the things that needed nerfs this patch, this was probably the last thing that needed to be nerfed, especially after the other tank nerfs. Fact of the matter is, out of the top 20 junglers being played right now, 3 are Cinder users. And even of those, champions like Hec could go either way. It just seems unnecessary when Devour is by far dominating the top junglers right now, and is extremely gold effective.

While I'm sure this would have been necessary when Tank junglers were dominating the Rift, after the collective nerfs to most of their items which also gives a buff to other AD users, and the subsequent buffs to champs like Lee, it seems like the tanks are going to be more and more fazed out.

Maybe I'm off base here, but as someone who enjoys playing champions like this, it seems like kind of a middle finger to them, and honestly I'm not sure why. They were in a decent spot, and if anything, some of the devour users needed to be toned down.

The Cinderhulk changes read as much more a nerf than they really are. They may actually be a buff even, early game power is typically more valuable than late game power.

The item will be better when you purchase it by a pretty meaningful amount. Though the scaling passive is reduced, the stronger early values are likely to have some trickle down effect into the later stages of the game, since more power early game converts to more gold/experience acquisition on average.

I did the math on the item, and found out the nerf is really small honestly. Basically you get 85 more HP the moment you purchase the item. The tradeoff, however, is that new Cinderhulk gives you 1 less HP than old Cinderhulk for every 10 bonus HP you get after 850 bonus HP from other sources (not including Cinderhulk itself).

In competitive play they were all using cinderhulk the only one not using cinder was nidalee. So don't tell me these shitty devourer champions are better than cinderhulk because they are not.
