Why does akali get resistances while inside her shroud?

Isn't the whole point of buying a pink ward (and defending it) in lane or revealing her in some other way to allow you to win a trade with her when she tries to win a trade against you by going invisible?

How the hell am I supposed to punish her when I reveal her if she gets a billion armor and magic resist just for standing inside her shroud?

TLDR remove the resists or increase the cooldown.

Unless an Akali wastes a few extra points for W, it only gives 10 mr/armor in lane, and that doesn't seem like alot. The armor and magic resist bonuses are also really helpful late game when Akali has to dive the carries.
