Dynamic queue interface looks spiffy but is a worse design than the old one

I like the artistic balance of the new layout. It's very attractive and the design reflects how league has advanced. However, while it succeeds from an artistic standpoint, I think it struggles from a functional design standpoint.

Most of the elements which communicate the most relevant information are small and shoved off to the side. The centerpiece is a giant picture that doesn't need to be that large, much less there at all. Bans are tucked obscurely away next to an excessively large title frame and don't even list the champion name anymore. Granted I can tell who any champ is from that tiny portrait, but I don't know if everyone can, and it was a lot easier to tell when they were at the bottom with their names.

The circular champion portraits, although the characteristic dimension might be the same, are overall smaller and harder to see. The chat box has been relegated to a corner and is about a third of its former size, and the runes/mastery menus are downright tiny. The scroll bar on them is painfully small (if you're trying to change something in a hurry, that's important). The list text even spills off the top and bottom when you scroll, which makes it look like it just wasn't finished properly, as does the pre-game countdown which floats awkwardly below an empty large, title banner that would be perfect for it. The map in the bottom right is neat but I know where all the lanes are; it's a frivolous graphic, just like the intro placing us all on the map like raindrops and everything in the middle of the screen when I'm not picking.

TLDR whatever else you think about dynamic queue the new interface is functionally inferior to the old one, although it does look a lot cooler--but looking flashy at the expense of substance shouldn't be what League is about
