I want to like ARURF, I really do
And I've played several games. But they do feel a little 'stale' after a while. Why? Well, It's join the queue, get popped 3 times because people didn't click accept, get a champ I like, someone dodges, get popped twice more, get a decent champ, someone dodges, get back into another lobby (first try this time) and get the same champion I've already played three times. Go for another game after and the client freezes (been doing this randomly since 6.17) and I am now sitting 10 minutes of wait time to play another game.
I've had that happen a few times, and I've gotten a bit annoyed with it. The champion pool is extremely unbalanced in URF. Now, I'm not asking for a balancing act of it, but we do need SOME form of making it more interesting. I don't want the pools reworked or anything, but for god's sake I actually want to be able to play a decent game! The first two were good, then I've seen Ashe in 80% of my games (getting really tired of seeing her) and otherwise the same champs. Mostly the free rotation ones. Is free rotation taken into consideration when making these?
I know this is a pretty pointless rant, but the game just totally misses the mark. It's a shell of fun that's been left out and is all dried inside. If you like the same champs over and over and over then I'm sure it's great. But wasn't the point of AR URF to be ALL RANDOM? What's the point of AR URF if we're limited to so few champs? Personally I have 20 something I think. Not because I'm ARAM only or some crap but just because I'm still in my first year and I only have those ones unlocked. A true random would be great, or even all champs you own + free rotation + 1 iteration of each champ you don't own. That way you have a chance to play ANY champion, and if you don't own them then you can only play them once.
Also, better idea to stop the freaking dodging: When you are put into a group and given a champion, it stays with you unless you reroll. Someone dodges? Great you have the same champion. I've had it far more often that I've had a champion I wanted and someone dodged than having a bad champion I dodge from (I don't dodge). The point of the all random games is so people play random champions, right? Well where's the random in just saying you can endlessly dodge and get a new pick?
I don't know really what will make anything better. I just want to vent my frustration and give some feedback. I know that for me, and I'm sure for others as well, the games end up a lot less fun than they seem they should be.
