Duo Queue, and get ....punished?

I have a RL friend who introduced me to league (may his soul burn in hell for this addiction lol)

ANYway, we are not pro players, we are not on skype chatting it up and discussing #LCSBIGPLAYSTONSOFDAMAGE.

I dont perma-camp his lane opponent. He can win lane on his own most of the time.

He tends to mid, I suck at last hitting (army infantry vet, with a TBI that causes my hands to shake, making last hitting rough...probably TMI oh well)

we dont gang up on our team, and report them to hell and back when they have a rough game, we dont play like that, we play to have fun and get better, quite often he will correct me, and I do the same for him. We are grown ups, you know, like old people. Mature, dont fly off the handle, sure we can get salty, like when olaf rushes iceborn gauntlet, and blames the team when he dies 5 times in 5 minutes, i'll something somewhat salty, like its youre own damn fault....ok enough story time.

we just enjoy the game, and like to enjoy it together.

TIL: that Riot intentionally groups duo queue partners against harder opponents.

Granted its team builder that we normally use, but still. I'll look up the stats of our opponents to find them 2-3 leagues higher than I have ever even dreamed of being.

Considering I can't sell my soul to this game and learn "D Gates" or pay for someone to watch and teach me (Still cant believe people toss 500 bucks at Trick2G so he'll watch them play and stream it.....no wonder people are broke in this country!)

Anyway why do they do this? Seriously! wtf? its not right! just because I have a friend I want to play with doesnt meant together we somehow increase from lowly plelb bronzies/silvers to Plats. C'mon reto!

Anyway just think thats unfair, and not fun, makes me want to stop playing this game....for the 5th time. Certainly not paying for anything when my main reason for playing is getting punished.

NuffSaid.

ps could you hurry up and nerf thunderlords, MF, and Rengar please? and give Aatrox some love?

P.S.S is this like Imgur right? I have to pay Cat Tax?

if so here you go: http://i.imgur.com/iPa8HCj.jpg

Normal match MMR is separate from Ranked. Their Ranked MMR or League has absolutely no impact on their Normal matchmaking.

This. Normal MMR != Ranked MMR

For an extreme example :

  • You play normals at a bronze level until your account reaches 30
  • At 30 you play 0 normal games, only ranked
  • During the ranked games you work your way up to challenger.
  • With a challenger ranked MMR, you go and play a normals game and get matched with bronze because the last time you played a normal match, you played like a bronze.
  • Everyone on both teams spends half the game saying "wtf why there a challenjour in here!!!!"

Because there's power in being able to talk using VoiP over typing everything into chat

With that said, the extra difficulty in opponents isn't that high. What your experiencing is more to due with the fact that normal MMR and ranked MMR are not tied together. Either those plats you face have poor normal MMRs or you and your friend have high normal MMRs.

One of your normals MMR is high as fuck, 'nuff said.

This applies to premades in general too, so don't feel bad.

It isn't a matter of "punishment", but more like a matter of just plain ol' Rito matchmaking.
