Why voice chat is a bad idea

There is no reason it would be a good idea. LoL is already known as one of the most toxic games ever. Voice chat would just have people yelling at others in different languages.

Look at what CS:GO is like with voice chat... But CS:GO even has a good reason for a voice chat because it's more fast-paced and you need to give call-outs quick when there's no time to write in chat. LoL is not, and usually you have time to write in chat unless you rage and just want to flame your teammate with a super long message. It would only do more harm than good being used as a verbal harassing tool rather than a tool for call outs.

But let's have our fingers crossed and hope that it's not going to ruin the game like CS:GO did.

For those that want it they will use it.

For those that don't want it, they won't use it.

For those that use what is probably a better voice chat right now with the plethora of free programs out there, they will keep using the voice chat they are using now.

It's a waste of time and effort for RIOT because it will not enhance the experience whatsoever.

But whatever.

My main problem with it is, I don't really want to listen to ten-year-olds whining over their $5 microphones (nor do I want to mic chat myself, because I have a pretty crappy mic of my own). Unfortunately, the implementation of voice chat would leave me with the choice of either listening to people shrieking with rage into my ears, or have no communication whatsoever other than pings from what will probably be a majority of players. In fact, a lot of people might even start to just make their "pings" over the voice chat, so that if I disable it, I'll be constantly getting ganked by that one annoying Talon with no warning because I don't want to listen to their crap. Even worse, based on my experience with CS:GO, a lot of mic users pay no attention to text chat - rendering all attempts to communicate with them fruitless if you don't have or don't want to use a mic.

TL;DR: Implementation of voice chat will pretty much force me to use voice chat, and I am not a fan. If I want to actually talk to my team in real-time, I'll be doing it with friends over Discord, thanks. Not in some solo queue hellhole of a match.
