Nerfs, Buffs, Riot, and The so called Meta.
What has League become today? A game where Riot takes destiny and desides to support the Meta. Funny word Meta is, Its always been thought to be currently what is best. Thing is the Meta is supposed to be changed by the player. Now its changed by Riot. Let's take a look at the current nerf to
. Why was he nerfed? People would of said he was fine in lane. Oh I see someone dared to break the meta, to form a new meta and play him support. So this new meta annoyed people to play against. Riot nerfed its annoyance ability.
So did that fix the problem with
? Or did it just create another problem... his solo lane viability. I know I'm using a current nerf as an example, However this isnt just about
, Its about Riot in general. I know they own the game, but why is it so different now than it was back in the begining? When we could play a champion anywhere we wanted. Why are they forcing us into this meta of ADC Support in bot lane. I know, I know there are those of you that will argue," but thats how it's suppose to be". Is it really? How long have you played? Because their was a time when people played alot differently. When even the so called challengers were trying to figure out the best team position comp for competitive. Back then you'd see 2 top 2 bot 1mid. 3 mid 1 top 1 bot.. ect... They and many different combination.
Which brings me to my point, why is it champions are nerfed before players have figured out how to beat it. Mal support surely has some issues. First he won't have the same build. His build will have to cost less gold. Meaning he's not as powerful. I bring this up because Riot instead of letting players learn something new, stepped in to Protect the so called Meta. They have been doing this alot lately. This is not how league was meant tobe done. I've been around since season 3 and I can tell you it doesnt feel the same. It just feels wrong.
Riot did not choose the lane positions we now choose to play, The player base did. We choose what champions we wanted where. We did this as a team, and we did it for Fun. Which is why we play the game after all. Atleast it used tobe alot more fun. I'm not say rebuff Mal, I'm saying Riot should of gave players a chance to discover the new Meta we were emerging into. They stole and blocked that discovery from us. Riot may have made the game, but we the players shaped the way it is played. Personally I think Riot has been bullying its playerbase by stepping on our rights as players. To learn shape and have fun in this game. Now we are forced into roles by so called Autofill. Lcs determines what champions have tobe played where. Why? because Riot is worrying about the meta changing so much the Pro's and thier teams scheduled to play year after year will be left behind when forced to learn something new.
Thing is learning something new, rising up to that challenge, making the builds work, experiencing things we are not used to. That at its core is what makes this game fun. There are over 120 champions in this game, we are always gonna be looking to break the meta as players. Riot should stand out of the way of that and allow the game to evolve again before its left behind.
