Ekko is once again extremely oppressive with no real tradeoff for building damage or going in.

His AP buffs that shoehorned him into playing mage were already on the overly strong side. Now that he got a MASSIVE buff to his jungling, he's almost impossible to play against.

From the very beginning of the game he's one of the most mobile champions available, with extremely high base damage, low mana costs and insane wave clear.

Despite building full damage, current AP itemization lets mages grow extremely tanky without actively opting into defensive stats.

Ekko is overperforming both in lane and in the jungle - he needs some sort of tradeoff for this extreme power. Compare him to fizz, who sees WAY less success across all ranks.

Then again, who am i kidding? Flashy plays for the LCS will always trump game balance.

His base damages got nerfed (and his AP scaling increased) as a result of Tank Ekko being a thing.

Of course he's mobile. He is an ASSASSIN.

The only "tanky" AP items are Rod of Ages (which a few mages uses) and GLP (which literally no one apart from Aurelion Sol consistently uses). All the other defensive items offer little defensive stats as their theoretical defence is in their passives not their stats. Even then, AP champions are still squishy even if they build Rod, Zhonya's and Banshee's.

Ekko's win rates are slightly below 50% in every single role (according to Lolalytics). His win rate in the jungle is 48%, his win rate mid lane is 49% and his win rate top is 47% and his overall win rate is 49%. He's okay but not amazing.

item 3152 as a first item means ekko can easily burst down the majority of the champions in the game, while easily surviving any retaliation - even from multiple enemies.

Ekko was never doing well in lane. His jungling is still shit.
