You don't always have to be aggresive to win games

This might just be me, but in prior seasons I always thought "the only way to rank up is carry hard". And to do this I always figured you had to go 10-0 , 15-0 in first 10 min of the games "like the pros would" in low elo. And no doubt being able to do this does help a lot, but that's not what ranking up is about. I have always been a fairly passive player and although I am still low elo, I have found success being a passive player. Really it comes down to knowing your strength, weaknesses, and looking for the right opportunities.

Games are thrown all time in low elo games. And what I and much higher elo players than myself have realized is low elo players don't know shit about ending games. I still don',t but I have gotten better at playing mid and late game and that has lead to my current 57% win percent that I am currently pretty pumped about. In past seasons it would be a miracle for me to get past 50% win and silver 2.

Some examples. I currently have a roughly 60% win percent as ezreal adc. Now I am by far not a great adc. I will not get 10 kills in lane or in game a lot of the time. But what I did realize is the Ezreal adc blue build is very helpful mid & late game. I have not hard carried a lot of games as ezreal with this build, but I have won 60% of my games, a few where I lost lane pretty badly. Because in the late game, it doesn't really matter how far ahead your early game was if you don't use that advantage.

Another example: I roughly have a 60% win percent as Morgana support on my main account. Now really supports can role into lane and get their adc many kills a game. I used to think this is what you had to do as support, but to be honest you don't have to. It definitely helps, but some players and match ups will make doing this hard and therefore you have to play passive and wait for your opportunity. Once I reached gold I realized my lane phase morg support was pretty poor. I miss a lot of snares and was having trouble getting my lane ahead. I however did realize my mid and late game play as morg has always been fairly strong and has led to game wins even after losing lane hard. I focused on my warding and ward removal, along with catching unsuspecting enemies with snares which = auto death mid and late game if your team around and I focused really hard on peeling for my adc. Some of my best support games are games where the enemy can never kill my adc and other carries because I am always in the way. I feel peeling is something a lot of low elo players lack and although I am no pro at it, focusing on it has led to more and more late game wins.

Currently: I am still learning jungle but I do believe it is my best role. I don't have to focus as much on cs like adc or mid lane, but I also get to cs unlike supports. I choose what lanes to gank and when, what objectives to take, and when to dive or try and peel. Even though I may not hard carry or snow ball a game, I have been having success keeping farmed up being aware of what objectives are available to take and which ones are at risk. When to engage the enemy team and when to run and peel for carries. Is still a learning process and I have a lot to learn, but the moral of the thread is you don't have to be aggressive all the time and try and snowball games to win, especially in low elo.

Once you get better at being more aware of what is going on around you in game you can become more aware of your strengths and weaknesses along with the enemy strength and weaknesses. You will learn your lane match ups or jungle match ups better and start to become more confident and can starting winning those match ups more often and getting ahead in the early game. And if you learn how to play mid and late game then you should throw much less games where your team wins the early game.

Tl,Dr. You don't always have to hard win your lane to rank up. Focus on mid and late game especially in games your team is behind. In low elo, many games are thrown so don't give up and you will see an increase in comeback wins. You will also throw less games if you learn the mid and late game.

You have to play aggressive. If you don't try to shorten the game then it will draw out to late game where advantages are evened out unless you hold fire dragons. Late game your team is more likely to throw, you have to play very safe and plan things out. Its not like mid game where you can just press advantages over and over again. Also, if they were losing but have a better team fight you will lose. Don't give bad advice.
