Switching roles?

So for the majority of my league experience i've been an ADC main, i've never gotten above silver 3, but still.. anyway, i'm sick of being seen as "a toxic ADC player" and am officially thinking of changing my main role to support. i wanna be able to help my team more and have more impact on the map, but i'm not sure how to be a good support, aside from what I, as an ADC, sort of expect during laning phase.. and i feel like, in laning phase, i can be a good support to an ADC, but i'm not sure how to play support well once i need to start roaming and stuff.. any tips?

I highly recommend watching bizzleberry on youtube or twitch. He has lots of great informational videos. Or lohpally Find different supports you enjoy and just spam games with them and watch lots of informational videos. Learn them and their combos.

As for roaming, roam when your ADC is backed or can easily 1v2 (as long as they not stupid to engage when you gone...gotta base it on each adc) If the adc is just a total idiot I just roam with jungler. If enemy is just killing us over and over again by tower diving and adc isn't doing anything no sense me dying to I'll put pressure elsewhere.
