Picture this, you scan a ward with Sweeper, go to clear it out, but your opponent has his 3 wards out and places a 4th one, causing the ward you just scanned to be deleted and for you to miss out on 30 gold.

Doesn't that feel like you got cheated out of something?

Riot, please make this small change to Sweeper: If you scan a ward, it can't be removed by being over the limit until the "Sweeping Blind" effect ends. If you didn't kill the ward by that time, you probably got zoned off it or did something stupid.

While it's funny, you should see it as you forced the other support to deplete his ward storage in order to save that one, since they most likely rushed to put 3 wards near where they are.
