The reworked Galio should be able to E flash to make up for his lackluster catching potential

Lùmen··4 votes·4,815 views

He should be able to E>Flash just like Vi, like Gragas, like Ahri, like Cassiopeia. Any champion that can cast a spell and flash in order to catch people off guard. His E doesn't even go through walls, so at least let him have that.

Keeping him as a short ranged peeling king rather than a jack of all trades engage and peel emperor seems to be what they're going for, which makes sense balance wise.

Lùmen1 votes

I just wanted him to be balanced around a more offensive role, but I guess it's acceptable. Good point

Ralanr3 votes

Honestly he looks pretty offensive despite being a Warden.

Lùmen1 votes

You see, that's the thing! Solcrushed insists on making sure that he stays within the limits of being a warden which is why his E cannot go over walls, he can't flash while doing it (like Gragas E flash) and he becomes somewhat irrelevant if he burns all of his spells at once (Leona syndrome). His kit can easily fit into a hybrid playstyle but Solcrushed demands otherwise.

except for the fact that his kit has no synergy and is completely outclassed while accomplishing nothing he can call his own.

all while maintaining a 0 dmg/lane ult.

id rather have a lulu.

Ralanr2 votes

How does his kit have no synergy? Especially with his E and W (or is it W->E?) combo?

there is no E + W combo, the abilities each have their own cast + animation. riot specifically stated they didn't want those 2 abilities to combo "thats malphites thing"

so you could preemptively E in, then start your W cast, procing it immediately as an interupt, or you would have to channel and take a beating to get the full taunt off. (which you can be CC'd yourself)

if you try to E while you are using your W it wont work, you wont be able to start the E until your W finishes the cast.

you could flash/ghost while channeling your W. its a shame you have a MS reduction while you are channeling W.

thats the most sluggish and punishing "combo" that has ever existed. at least old galios abilities were .25s cast animations which was bearable.

the new galio has 4 standalone abilities, each independent of eachother. thats exactly the same as old galio.

Got a link to that? Cause I feel they looked like they synergized in the video examples at the end of his article.

Yeah because having to stop moving to cast an ability that increased movement speed worked so well for the rest of his kit.

Think you might just be a tad bit overly biased because of the fact that Galio is gone? Not because of his replacement? Cause I remember you were very adamant against it when it was announced.

im objectivley stating that his abilities are limited use and dont offer enough hard cc to be picked over malphite, maokai, naut, or even a leona top lane.

Ralanr1 votes

Well Maokai is getting reworked, no one is going to out CC Nautilus, Malphite has only one form of hard CC and it's tied to his ult so Galio not offering enough to be picked over him is BS, and Leona doesn't have the waveclear to function in top lane (while Galio has two AoE abilities for waveclear).

So I'm going to have to disagree on him not being picked over others.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

let me make this perfectly clear. abilities aren't targeted, lacking in damage when compared to a renekton or a riven or darius, and straight up cost too much mana. all while outputing less cc when hes supposed to be "a protector"

the only thing he has going for him right now are his absurd base stats and passive availability, he gets it twice a wave, so much up time. if not for his passive you would notice he gets destroyed in both damage and wave management. "well its part of the champ so its just what he does now"

then why bother with Q or W at all... just e and brawl, thats all he does at this point.

im telling you now, new galio is going to flop because his abilities are too sluggish and cant keep up, he will receive ability buffs and passive nerfs once the hype settles down and pog builds come out focusing on the passive.

And that's bad because? It's an increased skill ceiling.

lacking in damage when compared to a renekton or a riven or darius,

Having lower damage than lane bullies is exactly a problem. Sion has less damage than those guys and he can still work well in top.

and straight up cost too much mana.

Which encourages him to build RoA, IBG, or Frozen heart. I don't see the problem.

all while outputing less cc when hes supposed to be "a protector"

How much CC is he supposed to pump out to be a protector? Cause I'm finding it hard that an AoE taunt, a single target knock up, and the CC of his ult isn't enough CC to do his job.

the only thing he has going for him right now are his absurd base stats and passive availability, he gets it twice a wave, so much up time. if not for his passive you would notice he gets destroyed in both damage and wave management.

Thankfully he has that passive to help him then.

succeed with galio, tell me how much effort and skill it takes, then i'll show you some guy who just plays hecarim, naut, or blitz.

the new abilities suck, flat out. but at least he has a dash thats the whole deciding factor right there and thats his new central playstyle to make a whole champion ""functional.""

old galio is a pog champ, for sure, with enough raw grossness to succeed. thats exactly what new galio is going to be, another pog champ with hype. he will not be played at LCS, hes not going to be pick ban, all the new galio mains are going to be top/brawler and not a "tank" or an "ally protector" thats the direction they're going in and if they had just decided on that right from the get go i could get behind that, if they didn't give him these awful Q, and R abilities. W could become workable conditionally. but as is, no.

Wow, almost like champions with different ceilings and floors require different amounts of effort. Fascinating.

That's like, your opinion. An opinion that you support with examples that I have argued against but get ignored or because you just say they are bad.

I honestly think you're letting your bias cloud your judgement.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

throughout the whole 3 hour stream, twitch chat either laughs, or just spams questions, the player never "pops off" or has a relevant play after 2 and a half hours of play time on galio. its so boring, unimaginative, uninteresting, and so lackluster, all while being the smallest factor in the game.

you'll see given enough time, and reports of being UP.

heres NB3, literally kill steals the whole game, and feeds when he decides to hard engage. Q or bust. challenger player struggles against unranks and silvers.

Ralanr2 votes

And we should consider the PBE as a great testing ground of balance because of the lack of ranked matchmaking to separate good players from bad players and allow for matches to be judged based on random matchmaking rather than a more refined pool of players?

Oh wait, that's why we don't use the PBE to really understand balance.

And people not using a new champion well when they first come out or hit the PBE is pretty much a guaranteed thing. Ivern, Taliyah, Bard, etc.

There's rarely a middle ground actually. They are either really weak because people haven't learned them yet, or overly strong.

Lùmen1 votes

He's dia5, washed up because he focuses on his youtube career over actually staying good in the game. I wouldn't count it

Lùmen1 votes

I can't seem to find a problem in his Q, but I absolutely hate the fact that he is forced into the warden subclass and Solcrushed forcing him to be a protector rather than a brawler. Hell, warden doesn't even go well with his personality. He's that one guy who just wants to fight all the time. COUGH SION COUGH *COUGH DEMACIAN VERSION OF SION COUGH

Ralanr3 votes

He's more about peeling than engaging. I'm surprised to see a dash at all.

I'm starting to wish Riot would look at a bunch of old dashes and make it some can't go through walls.

Lùmen1 votes

Someone really hates you and downvotes everything u post here for some reason.. It's not me, I just upped your posts

fuffychan2 votes

Lackluster? He has long range dash and a global ult. What more do you want? Nocturne ult on his Q?

Lùmen2 votes

Oh, it's the shitposter from my other thread who claims subclasses don't exist and apparently, he does not even know what actual mobility is.

Hupsis2 votes

No, instead Riot should delete Gragas' bodyslam + flash combo.
