**Aatrox's rework is labelled as GUs not VGUs. ** That means the current process of VGUs will not be affected by him at all.
Champ teams who are working on Eve Urgot and Aatrox are seperated team

Monotachi4 votesThe thing is, Riot doesn't actually release the stats for most requested VGU on a list. Not every single player of LoL reads the boards or even participates, so just because the boards think something, doesn't accurately represents the majority of the whole playerbase's opinions.
In that sense, the boards and even LoL reddit are a vocal minority in the grand scheme of things.

There he became that chemtech augmented dude killing chembarons. He is not undead anymore.
While he is born Noxian, he will probably considered a Zaunite champion. His visuals are more fitting for that city anyway. At least he has very strong ties to Zaun.

Zaun is underneith Piltover in the lore, but Stanwick(Zaun) built Blitz and his designer was Viktor. I think he's allied with Piltover though the last lore thing we had was basically him hanging out on this giant elevator called the howler and saving a bunch of people who fell. It goes between Piltover and Zaun so I guess he's part of both?
Chembaron Yamada3 votesYep, since Zaun and Piltover are intertwined with each other that much recently, you can make the argument that they fit in both for many of them.
However, in universe Blitzcrank is registered as a Zaun champion and as far as I know most of his lore is more related to that district as well. He was built to remove hazardous waste and since he got selfawareness, he is using his strength to protect the people. Compared to Zaun, Piltover is a pretty safe place. Compare the danger of some intrigues (something Blitzcrank would definitely nothing have to do with) and Jinx as the major thread in Piltover to things like Twitch, Warwick, Urgot, Dr. Mundo and who knows what else in Zaun. Not to mention the toxins in the air and incidents happening there.
Zaun is alot more dangerous than Piltover, hence why he feels dedicated making it a safer place.

are very strong candidates for the next. If Morde wouldn't get the slot after Urgot. I'm sure he is the next project of Eve's team.

The thing I fear the most is him being turned into a tank or an AD bruiser or something. I love his identity as an AP fighter who gets tankier the more damage he deals.

I'm on the same page. I really love everything about Morde. I love his passive, his ult, his heals, his damage, and literally his ability to build ANYTHING.. The only thing that is fustrating is his 325 MS.
I feel like if he got a tiny Movespeed buff, he wouldn't even need a VGU, rather just a VISUAL update, which we can all agree Morde needs. His skins don't do anything unique from the base skins, and are rather boring. Also, pizza feet

Depends on the directions they take. Akali is a ninja, potential for dark backstory. Pantheon is the aspect of war and was capturing Aurelion Sol, serious business. Irelia could be more intertwined with Ionia military and the Noxus invasion, dark backstory. Volibear should become a serious chieftain and war leader in my opinion, he is in Sejuanis clan, so pretty serious.
But they won't dare taking away the oddball Rammus and I expect Nunu to become a friendly yordle.
Monotachi1 votesIn that perspective, sure. I was talking about dark meaning themes in terms of look and feel around death, grave, gore, etc. Something Yorick, WW, Eve and Urgot clearly show. The colours used are of murkiness.
For example, the champions you listed - their stories can have a dark undertone to them, but they not defined as 'dark' themselves.

I would rather he ends up showing up next Febuary than this year and broken to hell with gameplay issues with a kit that doesn't stick. I have no real interest in playing Mordekaiser, but I don't want to have to deal with another 6 months of half the threads on boards being about Mordekaiser.
