Can we talk about Yorick?

Yorick currently has a 0.02% ban rate and a 1.33% pick rate. He only works in a single lane and has terrible TF's. I feel like Yorick needs a buff of some sort. The Necromancer idea is cool, and I hate to see it wasted on a very niche champion few people play. He has great combos, but bad CC and no Movement Speed. My suggestion is to make Mistwalkers annoying AF. Force the enemy to deal with them or even pay attention to them. The other main summoning champion, Malazhar, has Voidwalkers which forces the enemy to react. Otherwise they get swarmed. Could we please give something like that to Yorick?

I don't agree with giving him something like Malazhar, but maybe buff their base stats. He's basically useless solo if you don't have your ult, but there are many champs like that. Buffing the base stats of his ghouls would make them more of a threat.

Or giving them more of a buff after you hit people with his ranged ability. That way his strength comes from hitting with abilities. His Q could also have something added to buff his minions.

Example:

  • Hit an enemy with a Q, minions (not wraith) get an attack damage buff.
  • Hit an enemy with the ranged ability, minions (not wraith) get an attack speed buff.
  • Enemies who are within the grave circle thing take a % more damage from minions (not wraith).
  • After enemy's leave the grave circle thing or destroys it, their movement speed is slowed from the dying still grasping at their feet.

Something like that. They could be tuned a bit more but the main idea is to make the minion damage amplification come from the Yorick player harassing or attacking.

An easy fix to REALLY give him some insane split pushing power is

**Give him the ability to recall Maiden of the Mist back to him if he channels it for a few seconds. ** WHY? To create pressure. At the moment, if he puts her in a lane, early game, it gets answered because...everyone has a lane. Mid game, she can't push because towers are still up. Late game, she is a joke because even a support can beat him

if he can recall her, he is basically summoning a superminion from one lane to the next. The opponent actually have to go and kill her quick before he recalls her because minions are about to push tower.

Another possible change is to give her more damage so he actually takes towers down fast..like an ADC would. At the moment, late game, she doesn't do too much damage. In fact, the tower will auto target her first so she tends to die to a tower because it goes down.

We've all said it, because IT'S TRUE, that his Maiden is dumber than Daisy, and that's saying something considering how bad Daisy was at Ivern 's launch.

Make her smarter! There's been more times than I can count that I've summoned her, and then she gets stuck in a moving loop and does nothing, thus getting picked off by the enemy team and denying me of a great part of my power budget provided I don't have any Mistwalkers to aid me.

the bottom line is people dont play yorick because yorick has bad synergy with the keystones and the items and his kit is all over the place. other than that his personality clashes with the college kids that play this game.

he's not an attractive girl, he's not a cool anime character, he's not a cocky douche, he's not overpowered, his kit requires perseverance and micromanagement and a lot of it is about luck.

he's a moany groany crony with a defensive kit. you'd be hard pressed to get anyone playing him that doesnt already play mundo.

Yorick is a JOKE!

His minions are only good early game. The second a top lane gets a Hydra, the minions become useless. Late game, everyone one hits the minions. Thanks to free AOE spells, or free AOE damage items like hydra or static Shiv, all minions get wasted right away.

His ultimate was made to be a split pushing ability but it's a joke. Ultimate has a long CD even late game. Not even the pros in pro can use it because the window to use the ultimate in the way it is designed is just too small. To kill the queen (or whatever she is called) is easier than a super minion. Trying to make a play or some sort of pressure using it is easily avoided by the enemy.

His W gets destroyed late game by one attack or ability. It's a JOKE!!!1

He has a such a nice design but Riot dropped the ball.

Yorick is already getting some big buffs from the itemization changes, particularly the buff to Sterak's Gage. Let's see how those affect him first.

the first good change would be to remove the bug from his Q.

The ability says that if he kill a target with it, it drop a graves but, in reality, there are many instance where this isn't true at all (heimer tower, voidspawn,...)

JUST BUFF THE ULT COOLDOWN. It's over 2 minutes at rank 3 -- every other duelist champ has an ult that's about 1 minute at max rank (see fiora, trundle, riven). It's the only thing that makes yorick useful in the lategame and it's also the only way for yorick to quickly summon ghouls in a teamfight. It's such a long cooldown for a relatively weak ult. Like mcHammer said, even a support can beat the maiden.

I have posted this in every Yorick related thread since his rework.

What if we make his E also mark minions but just prioritize champions? On release his E marked everything and the ghouls would just jump to random marked stuff so they changed it to make it only mark champions. The problem is that it hurt his splitpushing . You would E the caster minions and the ghouls would work on the backline while Yorick and his minion wave worked on the melee minions.

Now your ghouls just spend most of their time walking until you finally reach a tower.

So basically what i'm saying is that the change made a core part of a split push champ's kit useless at actually splitpushing.

So... you can't play Yorick and want him to be buffed so you can win without thinking? Sorry.

Yorick is fine, and I'd even call him absurdly broken.

As a Yorick main. My main issue with his kit is that he relies too much on his minions to fight, without them he has to bail or else risk dying as he can't defend himself properly. He relies too much on the enemy's minions to create ghouls and that screws him over in the late game. As a juggernaut he couldn't need prep time to set up his graves and summon ghouls. In the laning phase his kit is good as he can bully his enemies hard, but after that he relies on his maiden to summon ghouls.

I got several suggestions on how to deal with this, and I am gonna split them up in two groups, one for ghouls, and one for the maiden

Ghouls:

1: Yorick's E summons 1+1 ghoul for each rank he has in his ult, up to all 4 ghouls at lv 16:

  • This way Yorick doesn't need to worry about graves at higher levels as at the start he needs to have limits on summoning his ghouls as they do hit hard. it will also make his E more useful and rewarding to land as it's just a marker to his ghouls to jump to a target and is fairly useless without any ghouls around.

2: Give Ghouls a percentage of his armor:

  • If Yorick is gonna have a hard time summoning ghouls, then it's only fair that it's gonna be hard to kill them in the late game. Right not they die so damn fast it's not even funny and if they are to last in teamfights then they should have some of Yorick's resistances on them. Seriously. Yorick almost always gets item 3512 after he is finish building a item 3078 so why should he be forced to build HP to make his ghouls tougher?

Maiden of the Mists:

1: Make her controllable at the cost of it's power and or duration:

  • The maiden is damn strong true, but if Yorick is to have her around, he should at least be able to control her. That way he may have control over her and thus able to direct her out of harm's way if she is under turrets or in teamfights. Her primary function if more to apply marks for yorick to pop meaning that her hp and damage should be lowered to compensate for that.

2: Create drawbacks for killing Yorick or the Maiden while she is up:

  • Got this one from when I got killed while my maiden was up and her HP as quickly dropping. Make it so that if the maiden is killed it's will heal Yorick for X amount of his missing HP and if Yorick is killed, then he will stay alive for 4 to 6.5 seconds base on the maidens remaining HP and gain the ability to 75% of the maidens mark damage on his basic attack. Let's call this effect Symbiosis.

For both: Make them smarter. their A.I sucks.
