item 3134 (1100) + item 3133 (1100) + 500 Gold Total 2700 Gold

+55 Attack Damage +10% Cooldown Reduction

UNIQUE Passive: +18 Lethality

UNIQUE Passive - Nightsweeper: When spotted by an enemy ward, you will be notified.

UNIQUE Active - Blackout: Reveal traps and disable wards around you for 8 seconds. Melee attacks instantly kill these devices. (90 second cooldown).

I'm personally not a fan of the anti-vision mechanic myself, because it sometimes negates a laner's only defense against a jungle gank. But I still reworked the item based on that mechanic, because the vision component of Duskblade is more unique than free damage (the lethality passive is already a damage booster). To accommodate the lack of burst damage, I lowered the total cost from 2900 gold to 2700.

This version of Duskblade expands on the warning mechanic that the enemy team has vision of you, but to negate it requires effort. With this item, the anti-vision mechanic is just a niche for players who like to surprise the enemy team, although taking it also indirectly makes the enemy laner safer if they are better with wards (since the warning might prevent a gank altogether). This is where the counterplay comes in, since a player who is good with ward map control can still outplay someone with Duskblade.

Basically, this version of Duskblade rewards players who are good at outplaying vision, or punishes players who aren't as good with wards.

Why would anyone buy this? Even ohmwrecker has more purpose than this.

Of the three lethality items, this one would be the cheapest. Also, anyone who can use the item well would most likely buy it. If you're good with a sweeping lens, this item is a nice upgrade to that type of gameplay.

But this is an item meant for damage roles. If I am looking for damage this is pointless. If I am looking for utility I wouldnt be playing a champion that would consider buying this. 200 gold cheaper is not even close to how much power is lost from the damage. Worse this version would be worse at helping deny vision than the current duskblade due to the current one being automatic.

I think that's much better than the current iteration in terms of the passive. Having the extra damage is precisely what led to it being the clear favorite among lethality items. I think adding some competition back into that set of items would be good.

Yeah, I figured that since the other two items don't give extra daage, then in a damage-heavy meta (or game entirely), it's important to make Duskblade's counterparts just as viable, or more depending on the playstyle.

Yeah but removing the extra-damage is really brutal. I mean I'd build it tbh, but it would quickly become forgotten, same as item 3814

i would honestly rather then remove the vision kill passive than remove the burst damage. bot honstly both passive needs to be removed it needs to be flat out deleted.. there is nothing the item has that should ever have been added to the game.

best way to counter dusk vision passive... is to ward enough and space the wards you can also buy control ward early-mid game, the most important part of the game against assasins ;)
