They really don't. The minute they're even half-way decent, the boards are lit afire, labeling them all as cancer champs with broken mechanics.

So the boards complain about melees being "bleh", but also hate melee carries. What melee damage dealers should be viable at all?

I don't mind skirmishers when they are built light, and actually have to use their mobility/slipperiness to survive.

Most skirmishers have gone through periods when they are build way heavier than intended. Their slipperiness and mobility, on top of their raw defensive stats, makes them incredibly annoying.

Fizz Fiora Ekko Yasuo Camille MasterYi

^Yi is maybe not a true skirmisher. The rest are. And all were able to deal lethal damage while building almost straight tank. Which was oppressive as hell to play against.

Riot needs to figure out how to make the class viable when squishy, and actually reliant on damage items in order to deal damage.

Most melee's rely on defense to insure that they don't blow up before getting into range. Personally, I find it foolish to build full glass cannon. (Even on a skirmisher or Assassin, I'll build something defensive.)

To make Skirmishers rely on a glass cannon build, would require them to have more defenses within their own kit. (Tryndamir's undying rage might be a good example) In the case of Yasuo, you might remove his double crit chance passive. (Which allows him to hit max crit with 2 items) That would require him to buy more items before reaching full potential. But then he would have to rely more on his passive flow and his wind wall for protection.

Fizz and Ekko would be a lot trickier in that regard because of Trinity Force. It's power spike is such that it simply a good stand alone damage item. (Which is why it's meant for Bruisers.) But it's difficult to prevent Fizz/Ekko from going Bruiser as long as they synergize with TF. (And they Synergize with TF, because they were made to synergize with Lich bane)

Almost all the time I look at competitive, I see tanks. Like...a tank and a diver is the squishiest I see a top/jg combo, save the occasional Rumble. Something like this should be Fiora's dream meta. This is literally her situation TO BE a situational pick in...and she's freaking scarce most of the time. Even if they're just reverting the nerfs to hit her again in the future, I'd rather they back track and figure out a better nerf than just leave her kneecapped, but the boards here think she's literally cancer.

Yasuo's the most useless piece of shit when behind...same for Fiora, honestly.

GP's alright if he ever catches up. Morde's like the only actually acceptable champ on that listing...which is surprising to type.
