I haven't played a champ to make use of it, but I think if a player wants to sacrifice stats for some gold I think this is perfectly fine. Stopwatch isn't a problem near as much as klepto anyway. Where I'm stuck I guess people are still in the brawling mindset, so it doesn't have much impact.

You are getting dived level 4? use stopwatch and see the enemies die to the tower. Or If the enemies have stopwatch they can dive you level 4, kill you and use stopwatch and are safe.
You get ganked, but your jungler needs a few more seconds to get to you? Stopwatch and flash towards him, you turn the gnak around.
Edit: You seem to underestimate just how much value one good trade early has.

The game ends in a blink of an eye nowadays 1-2 early kills and the game is snowballed out of control at 15 min mark u gotta ff if u fuck up in lane.
