AP Qiyana Post TLDR

Edit: Sad to say, it seems the lolwiki description of the wall enchanted tooltip is inaccurate. The bonus 60% damage is only applied to the Q damage. I personally think Riot should make this work the way I describe it below. If not, she still deals bonus 60% AP damage from her passive and W. I will still be trying AP Qiyana when I get a chance.

Previous post here

"Qiyana has 2 parts of her kit that that scale with AP, Passive and W."

Passive +30% bonus physical damage on first damaging ability and W+30% bonus magic damage while holding an element.

Fact, HOWEVER, the most important ability that I feel makes AP Qiyana work is her Q.

While Qiyana holds the wall element, targets below 50% of maximum health take 60% increased damage.

Using W to pick up the wall (after having a different element) element and using Q on a target with less than 50% HP increases the Q (136 / 168 / 200 / 232 / 265), + Passive (24 − 132.8 (based on level) + 48% AP) physical damage, and W (12.8 / 25.6 / 38.4 / 51.2 / 64 + 48% AP) magic damage.

At max ranks / levels that is 397.8 + 48% AP physical and 64 + 48% AP magic damage

Or 461.8 + 96% AP in mixed damage.

I'll be fair in acknowledging that the AD figures for this would come out to 461.8 + 120% BONUS AD

HOWEVER, you might be looking at 480 BONUS AD from 6 items with +80 AD which comes out to 576 from BONUS AD scaling.

In order to get the same total from AP scaling, you would need 600 AP. That is only a Deathcap and 300 AP from other sources.

Watching more gameplay videos makes me question this a bit. The in-game tooltip is different than the lolwiki description of the wall enchantment on Q. It looks like it might only apply to the Q damage.

The video that I'm watching is by Professor Akali, and at least in this video, he isn't building any AP, and of course most likely, nobody will until tomorrow, .. if they ever do.
