Fiora update... what?

I can't say I hate the changes (no one likes seeing her kill half their team with a single R) but this new fiora is a bit weird.

  • The new passive is odd and the bonus sounds vague. I also don't play with the sound on (I listen to music) so if the call out is verbal only, I'm not going to hear it. If the call is for a direction I can't get to easily, riot's RNG sucks.
  • I'm going to miss the double poke of her Q. Also the on hit bonus needs something. I just don't think there's enough on-hit stuff in the game; I mean she's not buying a giant's mallet and her ult doing true damage means it doesn't benefit from a
  • Also, what the crap is a vital and how do you hit it mechanically aside from her Q?
  • Okay, the new active on her W looks nice for the fiora player. However I'm going to miss the passive a lot.
  • Burst of speed is good. The auto crit sounds nice and the slow will help you get it in.
  • Okay, I'm a little sad to see her Ult go away when I play her, but I'm not sad when someone else plays her against me. As for her new ult... I've asked for a paladin in the past but I didn't expect to see a group heal on fiora. Yes she had a self heal, but that's different. The true damage is nice, but I don't think an AoE heal really fits Fiora. That feels like something Janna or Soraka would be doing and not little miss face stabber. I mean if Irelia got an AoE heal on her ult, sure people would call for her being nerfed but at least she's so overloaded it'd make sense on her kit considering her R heals her anyway. Is it possible to Q four times in 8 seconds or is that part of the ult mainly a joke and you expect her to get a kill to heal? I've got a feeling that moving her heal to her ult is going to hurt her early game and make her a little more snowbally.
  • Her new ult AoE Heal would have been much better on a jungler if you ask me. Imagine ganking bot at 6, getting the kill to heal the ADC and support, and then being able to translate that into a tower and a dragon. TP doesn't count. This effect is completely wasted on a toplaner. You know what? I'm calling this rework a failure based purely on this one thing. It's too much of something you'd love to see on a jungler or a support but I don't see fiora jungling and she's definitely not a support. This is disgraceful.
  • The most important question is did riot fix her weird centaur posture when she runs?

To clear things up: a Vital is a mark somewhere on the enemy champion that indicates a direction you can attack from for extra % max health true damage, a heal and a speed buff. Basic attacks and Qs both trigger Vital damage as long as you are in the right position relative to your opponent. The passive is Fiora's greatest tool. The Vital is visible to both you and your opponent and deals crazy damage in trades if she hits it consecutively. Also, it's not Riot's RNG that sucks, it's just you being unable to jump over your enemy with Q. You don't have to start a trade with that specific Vital either, since the Vital is always up somewhere on your opponent regardless. Wait a few seconds and it'll move. Fiora's ult is a gamechanging effect and fight turner which encourages her entire team to focus her target. The heal is huge enough that teamwork to catch that one enemy is totally worth it and CAN be translated into baron or dragon without a problem. It feels good to play as Fiora, it feels good to play with Fiora, and it takes skill to accomplish. Also, with max cooldown reduction she can Q 3 times in under 8 seconds, the cooldown being lowered to 2.4 seconds. Without max cooldown reduction she still gets 2 Qs, so you can auto, Q, auto, Q and secure all 4 Vitals for the heal. Not ridiculously difficult. TL;DR Fiora's strengths are now less passive and more visible, while also being easier to counter. Her skill floor and ceiling have gone up. If that's a problem and you need a one button wonder champ, go play something else. New Fiora is not for you.

makes me think, if ionian boots might be a good choice on her. especially early game when her cooldowns are still pretty long (i think rank 1 riposte is like 20 seconds?) it can make a large difference. and if you have the timing with your w down to dodge cc, you wont necessarily need mercs.

i feel like 20% cdr from the offensive masteries + boots, and a tiamat rush might be really strong on her.
