Darius beats Garen in overall early-late game effectiveness, Annie is actually a powerful Ahri counter, and as for Thresh and Blitz it depends on the team comp.

People say darius wins late game that is not true in the slightest Darius is easily kited and has extremely low bursting potential late game due to his abysmal attackspeed, where as garen can build full tank and still kill the carry with a single QER. Annie provides more for her team (thus annie support and not ahri support) and Thresh is typically a far better pick than blitzcrank in general.
