I posted this on Reddit, but for those of you who don't go on the league subreddit, here's a copy pasta

Dear top, mid and junglers, whenever I, your tanky support, am with you when a minion wave shows up please do not be alarmed. You don't have to expend your mana or energy inefficiently just so I don't get a cs. I get that you want gold, but we don't run on gas y'know; we need gold too. When you see some white balls circling me it means you're gonna get the gold and HEAL a little bit if I get the killing blow. When I approach your lane as a Leona and press q while heading towards a minion, that's not your cue to q that damn minion. It means sit back or attack another minion, get that gold, get my gold, and HEAL a little. Everyone bashes on the adc all the time, but at least they know our poor souls need money too and let us last hit when we have white balls. Heck they even ping cannons if I forget (of course for heal too). So yeah, when we show up to your lane you don't have to get your guard up

It's a sad life when you're Nautilus or Alistar support with four shield procs, walk up to a huge wave late game and think, "Yus, two cannons! I get shinies!!" Then your team shows up, and your millenia-long attack animations prevent you from getting even one cs.

I found the perfect way to avoid this.

What you do is go into a bronze game, buy item 3751 , and since if you kill a minion with it, it counts as an execute, just stand by and let that bronze level ADC get that minion to 3 health and incinerate that gold.

Dude not cool. I get it, i used to main Braum. That is a little overkill to get back at an adc, or even the rest of your team. Just buy the item let the adc see it then undo it. A lot funnier when only you get the gold.

tbh a fully upgraded targon's should also proc and consume a chare whenever one of your teammates last hits a minion

it'd be silly in laning but by the time you have that you're typically shifting closer to the teamfighting/grouping phase

alright i didn't word this right but let me explain:

when an ally would kill a minion near you, you and that ally would both recieve full gold and exp, as well as a heal, if you had a charge. the execute only applies if you do the last hitting.

Supports need more love, they are mothers of adcs. Baby cries because its hungry, thirsty.. Support gives everything to them, they care about you while you are little so you can care for them when they are old and harmless. We all should help our supports, our mothers and fathers, our life guards, our everything on early stages. Change the way you think.

There are 5 characters and only 4 ways of getting gold, support are the extras protecting the most important member of the team the ADC.

Hmm nothing wrong with the supports in fact i like em, cept soraka just cause the constant heals lol still like her tho back on track, i like that theyre here it'll be boring like top lane if they weren't tbh, while i am a bigger fan of mid lane id like to see a support in mid lane more oftentimes

The reason supports don't go and help mid opposed to bottom lane is that Mages who are typically played in the mid lane rely heavily on levels which they won't get if there is a second member in the lane, and most other champs played in the mid lane have kits that can make them survive a gank solo. Supports in the bottom lane with ADC's makes sense because ADC scale way harder with items than with levels and have less self peel to survive solo on lane.

It isn't so much that mids can get out of ganks, as both adc and mage need safety via tower or support, and since mage needs xp more we give them the safety of tower, while adc gets the safety of support.

I can back up this claim with the fact that, during the Season 1 World Championships, when Fnatic proved the dominance of the 1-1-2-J metagame, the popular mids were immobile mages, with little to no way out of a gank.

The thing is, in mid-game and late game, it's more important to push lanes rather than farm... I'm not gonna spend an extra 5 seconds for you to auto every minion when i can just instaclear it and roam

If you said that to me in game, I'd sit just enough away from you to laugh and let you die for every minion you refused to let me last hit because of that train of thought.

This is why ranked turns into a mess when people would rather just be impatient and clear fast instead of doing it right for maybe 3 seconds longer.

And i sit here and laugh at your silver rank because that's exactly one of the reasons you are still stuck with 300+ games. 3 seconds is huge and can mean contesting baron or give it for free. If you need 3 seconds longer, enemy team already rotated to another lane and knocks on your tower. The one who rotates faster will win. Especially in lategame. Let's say you are the support and bot with your adc. Top imd jungle are already midlane defending 3v5 a tower and get dove and killed because you absolutely needed three extra seconds for 100 gold instead of moving your ass.

That 3 seconds can be used elsewhere. Dragon. Skirmishes. Siege. You rather get 80 extra gold than to have a successful fight? What are you? Silver? It may not matter in lower level games, but when you play in higher ranks, every second can determine win or lose. Mid and late game is when you siege and get objectives. That always comes before your selfish need for gold. You push and get objectives. Not farm the entire game.

if you really can't trade 5 seconds for some extra last hits you're the problem.

sure if you're trying to rotate to roam and you wanna push, fine, but that doesn't explain why I walk into lanes of midlaners who are clearly about to back and decide to help them push their lane and they expend their 100 mana on a waveclear spell and get ganked and die... trying to steal last hits from someone who will give them anyway.

There are TOTALLY situations where the mid/top/jungler/whoever shouldn't wait, but I would posit that they don't wait in 100% of situations and so the PSA is still pretty helpful.

that is why after laning phase if i started the game with item 3097 i change it over to a item 3069 so i get gold for the killing cs and i dont have to worry about it plus i go fast

it's a bad idea. the gp10 item dont sell well. you'd lose money with an item made to produce it.

you dont lose that much ... and its more so of the other stats the other item builds and you gain gold with either item. you might lose a total of 100 gold over the game

Yeah I never got the reason why people got so mad over supports taking cs when they have relic shield.

I guess if you're Nasus then you wouldn't want a support taking any farm but then again a support shouldn't be going top just to split cs and heal.

I mean.... supports should understand that the Doge is the exception. If you gank a Nasus lane as support, don't expect those procs. I sure don't, and I'd rather sacrifice 50 gold for Nasus' permanent dmg increase.

I honestly don't know why they haven't made it automatic.

If a nearby teammate or the support missing any health, the next time a neaby minion is killed by either, they both get the healing and gold.

Would solve every issue with the item and make gold generation for tank supports consistent.

We're not just going to get gold - we're going to get BONUS gold, because your support item grants us a little bit MORE than the original value of any minion you kill. As a former support main i know this better than anyone, and as a top lane main i try to allways leave minions, especially the large ones, for my supports. It makes me cringe every time i see an Ahri panic and spend the rest of her mana to rush clear that minion wave before her Leona reaches her lane IN AN ATTEMPT TO HELP HER KILL THAT ZED THAT'S KILLED HER TWICE.
