Well with Taliyah mains unhappy and newcomers flocking in to try a difficult champion with the worst possible implementation of vector casting, it won't be surprising.

They aren't even flocking in, her pickrate also dropped.

I have no idea why Riot implemented a "please, please try this champion" change when she wasn't even on free week.

Her win rate with experienced players was 58%. It needs to drop.

That's why she was nerfed. The W change is totally unjustified, and frankly, just outright stupid. Not to mention the reason they changed W was to try to make it BETTER, not worse. They didn't change W with intentions on her losing winrate. They NERFED her with intention to lower winrate.

I highly doubt it, she still feels really strong, you just have to get used to her new w.

You could say the same about the old W BUT NOOOOO people kept bitching and moaning I don't see why we(the people who like double click cast) can't bitch and moan to

It really didn't need to be changed, but Riot wanted it to be in line with the other abilities in the game I guess. Don't quote me on that, but as someone who hasn't enjoyed a recently released champion as much as Taliyah since Ekko's release everyone just needs to get used to it. With a couple Qol changes it will be perfectly fine.

it dropped by 1%

but also her pickrate went up, meaning its patially due to those people being completely new to her.

The fact they are nerfing her next patch isn't going to help, that's for sure.

Taliyah Threaded Volley (Q)

  • Cooldown increased to 12/10.5/9/7.5/6 from 10/8.5/7/5.5/4
  • Damage changed to 50/75/100/125/150 from 70/80/100/120/140
  • Subsequent hits on same target now deal 45% reduced damage from 50% reduced damage.
  • Mana refund for casting on Worked ground lowered to 25% from 50%

Most of it is fine (looks mostly like damage redistribution), the kick in the pants is that mana refund nerf. As if standing on Worked ground didn't feel bad enough when you got 1/5th the efficiency of being off the AOE for half the cost, now you get less back and it's STILL only 1/5th as effective as staying out of the area.

I thought the whole point of a 50% refund was so she could safely farm cs if behind and is being forced to cast for it. 25% just seems like an uneeded kick in the butt for no reason other than to be mean.

Exactly. I get nerfing her since she has a high win rate, but this is just making issues with her kit worse and likely just going to end up with her getting another nerf in the following patch.

If she's dropping her rocks you're doing it wrong.

Ironically, though, if the change does what Riot wants (bring in players who were put off by the awkwardness of old W), then her winrate will indeed drop... temporarily, at least. That doesn't mean it's a bad change, though. Winrate isn't everything.

Tell that to every single person that tried to convince me to kill myself when I played her after a week of her release. Winrate is NOT everything, but a lot of people don't understand that.

It might dip while players that got used to the old one get better. But lets not kid ourselves, her winrate will have nothing to do with the casting method, its all about the lockout. You can combo W E instead of E then waiting for the W

Well mid Taliyah just went down to 42.46% and top Taliyah is around 49%. Not really an indicator of anything, but it's a little concerning.

Yeah genius, they made her slightly harder to play. It's going to drop this patch and rise back up the next when people get better with her

xTropicalPenguin1 votes

they made her easier to play, nerfed her e , nerfed her w, and are going to nerf her q

Left Hook Larry2 votes

She needed nerfs. Was way too strong

Poro Princess1 votes

She needed nerfs not a gutting of her gameplay style.
