People are so mezmorized by the flashy new Mordedragon that they dont see that he was nerfed hard.

The new Mordekaiser changes break my heart. When I first read that they were going to change Morde I was actually filled with dread. Being a Mordekaiser main, I can see the most frustrating aspects to his current kit. His E is instantaneous and combined with his passive make effective trading with him nearly impossible unless you really outrange him, and his passive itself means that unless you can stunlock him for a while or super burst him you wont kill him easily in a teamfight. I was totally expecting them to hit the frustrating parts of his kit to soften up his weakness on being so kitable that you dont HAVE TO build enough ap to flash + ignite +Q + E +R full burst someone equally fed down to death if you want to carry a game, but no.

The identity that I have always felt Mordekaiser has is he is a really slow, beefy, waveclear champ with alot of in fight power once he gets into the fight, that has a backup plan of blowing all summoner spells to be able to kill 1 high priority target and turn the fight into a 6 v 4. That identity is gone now for a couple reasons. His waveclear is effectively gone now which means that he is not going to be an effective farmer anymore. This is important because he scales really hard into late game but without any mobility or cc, he has a hard time killing anyone unless they are stupid enough to fight him 1v1 or he has summoner spells up and so he needs to get that farm on as much as possible to be useful when they are up. Also if he should fall behind, he had a nice fall back pattern of using his waveclear to split push turret pretty quickly. But now even if he gets just as much cs as before, it won't matter because the burst is completely gone from his Q.

"Oh well they fixed an unhealthy pattern on him of completely killing a target once every 5 mins though right?"

With mobility creep having warped the game so much, I argue that a lack of cc or mobility is such a detriment to a team that his burst combo was the only thing shoring up his champion breaking weakness and now that's gone. How does Morde deal with Kalista, or Lucian, or, Vayne, or really any other ADC he is supposed to playing against now since his new home is bot lane? The answer is that he doesn't. He cant outplay his target, his support has to do the outplaying for him since he is incapable of doing it himself now (But mind you his support has to outplay both enemy ADC and sup.) Tell me if your support leona jumps onto enemy support sona, and enemy vayne jumps on you in response, what are you going to do? R + E + ignite and hope that kills her (it wont) while she is destroying you?

And dont even get me started on his major W nerf for the sake of giving him "incentive" to go bot lane. In this case "incentive" sounds suspiciously like "compensation" since they are adding power but making it not worth it to use since you basically have to have an ally with you at all times if you want to have a W.

Anyway in closing, I would actually like to quote Meddler here from 16 days ago, "Being an immobile melee with no CC does mean that you do get kited by champs like ashe or kallista. There's two ways that we've thought about how Morde will be able to handle those types of champs/situations:

More baseline defense - Morde right now relies almost entirely on dealing damage to stay tanky, which makes him even more dead when he cant get to target. We're trying to bring up his reliable/baseline tankiness so that he can function better when he's not winning already.
Ally CC - This may sound like a bit of a cheesy answer but we really want Morde to be that much of a thread that allies and enemies will dread getting caught in CC when he's nearby. If Nami lands that bubble, it's go time for Morde." Unfortunately Meddler, there are a slew of other champions in league (most with cc mind you) that I would be more terrified to be near if I got caught by a Nami bubble. That list includes Draven (a champion with such high dmg and a little cc that I have been killed, i shit you not, 100 to 0 within .60 seconds from a Q crit), Leblanc (High burst, mobility, and cc) Anivia (High aoe dmg and cc), irelia (high dmg, cc, tankiness, and mobility) Ashe (high dmg and cc), darius (sustained high dmg, and cc who is actually getting a buff), Talon (high single target and aoe dmg, mobility, and a little cc), Nidalee (high dmg, mobility), Lux, (high dmg, cc) Olaf, (super high dmg, mobility, and cc), Vayne (monstrous dmg, mobility, and cc), Veigar (gigantic dmg, and cc) and well I suppose there are more but ive wasted enough time on a post that riot wont pay attention to anyway.

I feel like they put way too much power into Q. Like, Q has the potential to one-shot (technically three-shot, but yeah) someone, given enough time/farm. The problem with this is twofold - 1, getting that far ahead will take a LONG time (exacerbated by the fact that he goes bot now, a lane where he'll most likely get bullied out of) and 2, actually staying close enough to his target to Q 3 times.

Give him ALL that power... and make it nearly impossible to use it.
