Think about it. Yummi is basically an untargetable Soraka all game. They way you counter Soraka is by killing her first but there is nothing you can do against Yuumi. She just sits on her ADC and just spam heals the ADC. It makes the ADC even more tanky because they are getting constant heals without any form of counterplay.
Soraka can actually deal nice damage.

There's no reason to pick current Soraka at all.
Soraka+Sona bot lane. Taric+Yuumi top lane. Trundle Jungle. No mid laner. Mid lane is Trundles farm when it collapses on tower.

I don't know why people keep comparing soraka to yuumi.
Yuumi is much more like sona than soraka. Team fight winning ult, some poke, some heals, minor speed steroids.
Soraka is a minion waiting to be one shot by anyone with a gap closer.
Soraka has better heals. She can actually keep the ADC topped off, as opposed to Yuumi who has to wait for his HP to get low to maximize the effectiveness of her heals. Pick Soraka into Yuumi and you can kill her if she ever hops off the carry to get her shield proc. Without her passive Yuumi will be playing with 80% of her kit.

soraka lategame reloads her healing so much its tilting and has a silence. while yuumi is a Slow tower/medpack that can be knocked out if lucky ofc. her ultimate is the main killer.
Soraka has arguably better harass, much more consistent and powerful heals, and an immensely powerful global ult heal.
Yuumi's not going to be spamming heals the entire time, atleast not at the rate and power at which Soraka does. Yuumi's only damage ability can be easily blocked whereas Soraka has a more reliable Q/E. Also, Yuumi doesn't have on-demand hard CC like Soraka does unless she ults, and even then it's still slow to startup and most champions can dash/flash out before they get rooted. All of that and we still haven't mentioned her ult, which can single handedly win teamfights or win duels for allies across the map.
