Riot definitely needs to take input from their top players because they know the game best.
A lot of Riot employees and balancers are nowhere near the top of the ladder.
It just makes sense to me that they hire, or at least take advice and input from, their master/challenger players.
Maybe they do this already; if they do they need to make it more obvious.
Really just seems like they're throwing out random ideas onto PBE and seeing if they will work. And if they don't, they won't revert it, they'll just rework the dumb feature until it's dumber than before. Pretty sure Rengar Q was Riot's first smart reverting.
