Enemies Smite-Clearing 'Groved' Camps?

Edit One of my commenters has informed me that when an enemy steps within a grove, it is broken. I was unaware of this as the Wikia page and all of the gameplay videos I have seen so far do not demonstrate this. If this is the case I can completely agree, this would be sufficient counterplay, and he would not need this to further balance him.

If possible, could someone please verify this for me. A video link would be preferred.

Should enemies be able to smite-clear a jungle camp that has a maturing or matured grove placed on it? (Maybe fully matured only?)

This would mean Ivern has to be a little more cautious about leaving 'groved' camps unattended.

This also gives the enemy a chance to counter jungle him, because right now it is literally impossible for an enemy jungler to smite steal a camp from under him. They may be able to claim the buff, HP, or Mana, but since he does not fight the camps, they will never be low enough health to claim the kill gold and exp without fighting the camp normally.

One clarification, I wouldn't think I need to add, but I want to be sure, just in case. This would not allow enemy champions to instantly clear a camp if the grove has matured, like how Ivern can. They would NEED to use their Smite.

Also, as a possible compromise for balance sake, either way, the gold and/or exp gained from doing this may not be as much as it would be if they fight the camp normally.

The answer is NO. Ivern's groves already break if an enemy steps foot in them, making him easily counter jungled, and adding an extra element to make him more counter jungled would just make him an invalid. Let me reiterate - Ivern uses quite a large chunk of HP and mana to make groves. All an enemy has to do is run around and step in them to remove them without attacking any of them. This means that Ivern has already used his own HP and mana and all the enemy has to do to make it a waste of his HP is to walk.

So why would an enemy keep to their own jungle if they could shadow Ivern and just smite his camps? All they have to do is walk into them now to invalidate them, so making countering him that much easier is just no. This is a terrible idea and would just ruin Ivern.

I was not aware of this. The Wikia page makes zero mention of it, and I have not seen any gameplay demonstrating either. Unfortunately, I don't own a PBE account so these are the only resources I have to go by.

If that is not the case, I think it could be a problem, as I mentioned.

However, if that IS the case, yeah that is definitely plenty of counter.

I have continued looking for this and have still come up with nothing.

I actually have seen gameplay where the player steps into an enemies 'groved' camp and there is no visual indicator that shows that the grove broke. So if this does happen, it was either bugged, or there is at least a delay, or no indicator. He, being Ivern as well, was able to simply place a grove and smite the camp himself. To a similar effect, in the same video a camp that he had placed a grove on had been cleared and the grove mark remained in place.

Again, I acknowledge that this could have simply been a bugged game, but It is so far only evidence to the contrary of your claim.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I am just saying I can't find any proof that you are correct.

Lol, I literally have that as a vote option. Can you at least give me some thoughts on it?

I mean, don't get me wrong. I feel the same way. I don't necessarily WANT this, but I worry that it may become an issue.

There is very little reason for an early invade other than to try and kill him directly. The best motivation for this that I can think of is that he will most likely be alone, since he doesn't need a leash. However, based on the stats currently showing on the LoLWikia page, he has a decent amount of health, but not a whole lot of armor. He ... issss .. vulnerable, but not that vulnerable on his own.

It just mean what I said. He isn't released yet so I can't make a judgement. It's that simple.
