Why don't people want Yorick to be a good pick
I notice whenever I post asking for Yorick buffs a good deal of people downvote or don't want them Was Yorick 3 months ago (pre ghouls nerf) really that overbearing to play against?

Yorick punishes bad players and guess what boards is mostly comprised of
Ily moody P. You are the hero the boards deserve
When he is strong, he is basically played like a tanky and immobile version of what people usually associate with Tryndamere and people really dislike that playstyle overall. AFK splitpush. It's the same reason people hated int Sion. He doesn't care that he dies. He absorbs so much attention and takes turrets or at least does considerable damage to them so quickly that it's a nuisance to deal with. He got ahead in lower Elos far more often because low Elo players would fight him in his ghouls without clearing them and auto-lose trades and eventually the lane.
The above aren't my views on the champion. Just stating why he is hated by others.
I feel that even when Yorick is strong, you just take a champion that can waveclear and/or straight up fight him. You keep waves pushed so that he doesn't AFK push. You kill him solo or with minor assistance (since you don't want to dedicate 5 people to stopping him and losing objectives on the opposite side of the map), shove the lane out so he doesn't TP and continue AFK pushing, and then group with team and use numbers advantage. His teamfighting suffers from the same issues as Nasus.. He does plenty of damage, but has trouble getting to the important targets, getting CCed, bursted and DPSed down before he can become a threat to the carries. His slow only gets him so far, his W is delayed enough that you usually just walk out of it, and even if his W catches you in a teamfight, an even decently coordinated team will kill the wall quickly enough that it should barely affect the outcome of the fight.
Not everybody enjoys mindlessly ARAMing mid at 20 minutes waiting to see who fucks up first. Teamfighting should never be the only viable way to play the game. Splitpushing is the best way to carry from top lane so its here to stay whether other roles like it or not or Baron pit gets reworked to up top lane's relevance.
Right. Like I said. I don't have an issue with the champion.
Other people have an issue with him because even if Yorick is hard inting, it feels like they are stapled to the lane Yorick goes to or he takes towers. I discussed how that is not the case in my opinion.
Reading is pretty good.
Not once did I mention you in my post I was talking about the state of yorick and splitpushing as a whole. Also its pretty annoying how you're going into such detail about how Yorick is hated than going "lol jk that's not me haha". If you dislike the champ just say it instead of hiding behind this logical fallacy, seems passive aggressive.
You replied to my post, which would be implicitly referring to me.
I explained why he is hated in low Elo by many players, which quite literally answers your question in the OP. The vast majority of players are in low Elo. I explained why I don't see Yorick as a problem.
You seem pretty ready to object to anyone who replies to this thread, even if they, myself included, agree that Yorick could use a buff.
I replied to a post detailing the opinions of most players, I didn't implicitly refer to you unless you agree with the opinions of most players? You never explained your opinion, just that you disagree with most players. Since you disagree with most players that means you think Yorick needs buffs? I don't get why you're posting so passive aggressively lmao go back to reddit.
You're not allowed to give reasons why people don't like something, even if they dont apply to you?
Zeychin is right in their assessment. Yorick is a really cool champion but when he's in a game, he pops ult and just shoves one lane over and over and over until he wins or has to move to another lane. He's almost never in teamfights.
Zeychin also made a good point by stating the comparison between Yorick and inting Sion. People genuinely just hate fighting super minion style champions. Atleast Nasus and Jax leave lane to join team fights sometimes, Yorick and Sion just push.
Probably because pet spam is annoying to play against and people generally don't like to have to actually deal with split pushing and just want to clusterfight.
Yorick's pet spam is nowhere near as cancerous as
who just clicks one button and summons pets.
Yorick has to use his 8 second cooldown Q 4 times THAN he has to land E on you just so the ghouls will damage you. The worst part is that with all the setup the ghouls require they do less damage than
clicking 1 button near you.
