riot, I don't want to join a team to climb to high elo

It sounds fun on paper - joining a team and climbing the ladder together as friends, and it probably would be if I had the time and friends to do so. In reality, everyone has shit to do and it is hard to coordinate 5+ people to play and practice together. Climbing to high elo should not be gated by how many friends I have or my ability to keep a consistent schedule. It makes absolutely no sense that riot would initially be opposed to sand box mode because it "increases the barrier to entry", only to make playing solo a massive disadvantage for climbing. Some of the friends I had that got into WoW revolved their entire lives around their raid schedule. Is this what riot really wants high elo to become? "Sorry I can't go out tonight, my LoL team has practice." I'm sure some people are into that kind of gaming lifestyle, but for a more casual MOBA it really makes no sense.

You could try playing for fun. Is it not what playing casually mean? Playing for fun without care for the competitive scene? Is it that important for you to reach high elo as a casual player?

I'm shit at climbing... And it has jack all to do with the system. I just suck at the game.

It looks like solo queue would be helpful... how about solo queue and dynamic queue? WOW What a revolutionary idea. Or How about don't remove features that works fine and that your player base already likes?

That's the beauty of Dynamic Brotha...you don't have to join a team to rank up...you just need to make friends with one or two people better than you (I found some kids that are alot better than me and bought them beer and cigarettes) and they can elo boost you to the upper ranks you are striving for. It's not boosting if it's Dynamic Baby!

Ok this is just MY case, but I got Diamond again playing 100% solo. Just like the season before. Or before...I think.

I am slowly but surely climbing my way out of silver. About to go get my gold 5 promos right after this. I have one buddy I duo with maybe once every 15 to 20 of my games and we have one friend who will join us maybe every 5 games we play together. You don't need a group.

Edit. You're going to point out you're talking about high elo. I'm gonna say if you consistently play well you will climb. Law of averages man. Just play more games and you will make it.

My biggest issue is that I can't queue with my 5man ranked team anymore until one of them drops and another one climbs.

Then don't join a team to climb elo.

Keep going Solo, no one stopping you.
