What with Tank Fiora, Tank Yi, Tank assassins, Tank ADC's, Tank supports. being tnaky seems to be back in super high demand now.

Is this the return of the dreaded tank meta?

Everyone is playing tanks. Malphite is in huge demand, almost all lanes are building tank items. Udyr is crazy strong again.

Building a defensive item or two is not the same as playing a tank. Most bruisers, like Udyr, have always built some defensive items and some offensive items.

I think its more that off tank itemization is too good tbh. The MR items give huge MR and Last Whisper is now only valid against a full build of armor. Meanwhile mixed offense/defense items are better than ever for AD.

Remind me how Yi, fiora or the ADC are tanks? Everyone might be tanky but real tanks are still not played because they don't deal "enough damage"

pretty sure Fiora is a tank... she builds like one, plays like a fighter, but is super strong with health items and 2 damage items

u just go titanic hydra, death's dance, randuins, swiftness boots, warmogs, and whatever u want really

going grasp of the undying is just op on her as she gets extra health back if u hit those vitals

You are confused my friend, she is far from being a Tank. What defines a tank is Utility, a tanky champion without utility is not a tank, is either a bruiser or a figther (juggernauts are also figthers but is more of a subclass).

I like to call it the 'Base Damage' meta. Whoever deals the most damage without the need of ratios will win.

People are tanking up because if they don't the ADC meta will destroy them. As Inept Maverick said champs with high base damage who can tank up and still do good work are the popular picks atm. Malphite is strong only because he counters the ADC's atm.
