So Curse has a client called Curse Voice, a beta application that lets people communicate with each other over Curses servers. I was told by many people that this is an illegal thing when playing League, but others say "If it is there, then why isn't banned by Riot?". I was wondering what you guys have to say. Is it or is it not legal?
I put this in Gameplay, since it has to do with communication, and this will affect gameplay.

Deep Terror Nami3 votesIt doesn't affect anything...and you're going to have to cite your source because the red posts I've read pertaining to specifically Curse Voice said it was legal, because Curse removed its timers after Riot changed their 3rd Party rules to ban them.
Zhugan2 votesRiot's response on this is something along the lines of "If it effects the gameplay experience at any point from the time that you pick champions to the time the victory screen comes up, and it isn't a part of the built in client, it is illegal."
That's not my stance. That's Riot's stance. Look it up.
redniwediS1 votesThey take that stance for a good reason, but it is so one person does not have a real advantage over another. The reason voice chat is allowed is because there are in game ways of communicating.
Curse was illegal for about a week, which does not include right now.
Deep Terror Nami3 votesI know what their stance is, and Curse Voice nor any other VOIP program I know of breaks any of their rules. What you are referring to is the OLD Curse Voice which automatically put players into the voice chat and also had in game timers. The NEW Curse Voice does neither of these and is legal. You need to get with the times, your info is really old.

Deep Terror Nami2 votesGuys, VOIP is legal. Curse Voice originally had timers, which with the new 3rd party rules was illegal, but Curse removed that specifically so it would stay legal. This is not a subject of debate, it is legal.

Thunder Dreamss4 votesIn game timers were "only one reason" it was banned. The most recent ruling I'm aware of from Riot is that Curse Voice is still not allowed. Do you have a more recent link to a Riot employee giving Curse Voice the green light?
