why is lee sin's Q designed to do massive damage AND be gab closer ?!

so his kit is designed to do melee damage, so why is his Q capable of dealing more so much damage ?

it ain't hard to hit such a fast moving skill shot and if you do you can be sure you will deal a ton of damage just because you hit one simple spell ...
