@Riot: Are there any thoughts to a skillshot healer?

Ana

Ana in Heroes of the Storm (and Overwatch) has to land skillshots to heal her allies, but her heals are quite potent. Yes, she can miss her heals, but her primary healing ability is fairly spammable, although laning and mana work differently in HotS compared to League.

I have to wonder what Riot's present stance is on adding a skillshot healer. From what I remember, in the past they said they didn't want one because if you missed your ally it would start a blame/flame game. But with how the game is going now, I don't think that'd be such a major issue. It'd be interesting to see how a skillshot healer would play, so I hope Riot is at least experimenting with the idea.

As someone who really hates Anna...

It would be an interesting addition to the game. I kinda wish they had done that with Soraka instead of what we have now. The health costs didn't really work for me then, and they still aren't.

I'd personally rework Soraka to be more like Malfurion. Places a regen buff on an ally, but has to land another spell to get the bulk of the healing.

In Soraka's case, she'd cast Astral Infusion on an ally to buff them, and then have to land Starcall on enemy Champions to heal buffed allies. Requires more aggression on her part, negates the need for a health cost, and allows good counterplay (dodge her skillshot).

Can't wait to see ADC's becoming even MORE toxic realizing that their support's can miss their heals

The question is more along the lines of why? Feels like the only reason to do this is to gain a bigger distance heal for teammates, if range isn't going to be increased in comparison to others then it's just a straight up nerf compared to others.

Range would definitely be a benefit.

In both Overwatch and HOTS, Ana has a grenade that heals allies it hits AND completely negates any healing effects on enemies. While a skillshot, it makes her healing in both games the most powerful assuming that shots are hit.

There's also the fact that her healing skillshots have the highest burst heal on a short 'cooldown' in overwatch IIRC, which given her clip size of 14 shots, gives her the highest HPS overall if she hits at least 70% of her shots. IDK about HOTS, but I'd think the values and range would be high there as well.

I think they made a post on this a while back, and mainly the reason why they DON'T want to do this is because of the fact that teamfghts get really chaotic and it can be difficult to see what and who you're hitting. With Anna your teammates are highlighted in neon green or something when behind walls, last I played Overwatch.

Whatever this champion turns out to be, guaranteed 100% pick ban in pro/ balanced in soloq, or picked sometimes in pro play/absolute dumpster-tier in soloq. one or the other.

Sounds they way healers should be, with skillshots, not direct heal. For example Rakan heal is a great ability imho.

But again, if they add a champion like this, they need to tweak Soraka else nobody would pick the new one
