am sorry but why do I take 1800 true damage from vel koz in 2.5 seconds? what the hell. bring back the old vel koz this shit is cancer

At rank 3 of his ult, Vel'Koz needs a little over 1000 AP for his ult to actually deal 1800 true damage to you. That's assuming you got Researched beforehand and took all 2.5 seconds worth of damage from the laser.

Getting anywhere close to that much AP as anyone not named Veigar is a tall order, usually involving a few Infernal Drakes, the Elder Dragon, blue buff, and Deathcap. At which point anything would deal a ton of damage.

Yes, viktor can do that kind of damage late game. He can't do that to a 400 MR Galio though. Building all the mr in the world and still taking nearly 2k damage is kind of absurd. Against the same galio, viktor could hit his full combo and galio would just heal standing in the storm.

I don't care about this topic at all, but if you want to make claims learn to math correctly.

ult @ lvl 16 = 800 + 125% ap over 2.5 seconds

800 + 125% (x) = 1800 damage

125%(x) = 1000 damage from ap scaling

x = 800 ap needed for 1800 damage ult

Well I mean, they need all of the mages to have a specific reason for being picked. Velkoz is more for peeling away health from tanks and anyone else but he doesn't have instant damage like Veigar . You need to have landed at least 3 of your marks to do that true damage but even still, to get them all without them flashing away or simply researching only 1 person isn't worth the ult unless you just want to do damage to one person. In lane he is strong if he isn't countered but when it comes to teamfights, his ult will probably deal some true damage but mostly normal Ap damage since teamfights are normally a mess.

no hes for killing both tanks and squishies. he does a flat amount of true damage. but its too much that it doesn't matter whos hes ulting.

He can only get that true damage if you get hit by three basic abilities, unless the ult still procs his passive. and honestly you lose a lot of damage without getting the research boost before ulting.

vel koz abilities are some of the easier skillshots to land. and if he lands one. the other two are guarnteed to land due to the cc.

Well dont forget his passive does true dammage too so it might not all been his ult but for real dont complain about Velkoz he doesnt deserve it

People complain about all true damage no matter who it is. Irelia, vayne, camille, vel koz. What is stupid about true damage is that if you build health you are no more tanky than a mage with rylai's, roa, and liandry's and if you build resistances you are no more tanky than an adc.

800 ap vel'koz combo can dish out 4738 true damage and 1745 magic damage(premitigation). This is nothing to compare with any other burst mage but perhaps Veigar with 2010 AP and that's under the presumption that the target has enough MR to block 70% of the magic damage. True damage ignores any resistances. In most of the late game scenarios vel'koz has no problem reaching 800ap, with void and flat magic pen. Veigar can not get 2000 ap in premade 5v5 games.

Lux Annie Xerath Viktor even Syndra can never reach that amount of nuke.

His ult is a channel, and he is stationary when using, play a champion with any form of stun, silence, knockup or terrify, and he will be knocked out of his ult, or play vlad.
