Tank Sona

So, trying ranked again, and I feel building bulky on Sona is a great way to go! I have survivability, heals still do a good amount. I am able to speed in, Ult 3 - 4, speed out, heal and Q the team down and GG. Then again, this is Bronze, and probably in higher Elos, people won't be so clumped up... Anyyyyway. Tank Sona is a thing.

"Tank" Sona is fine if you build utility items, personally I like rushing item 3025 after item 2049 for the AoE slow and it adds on armor AP and CDR...There are probably "better" builds for Sona but... makes me feel like I'm "helping" ;)

I started Sightstone > Frozen Heart > Locket. Usually ADCs focus me like a mofo. It's kind of nice living through Garen's ulti and stuff though. If there is A LOT of AP on their team, I just rush MR. But if their sup is someone like Janna, or whatever, and it's not a lot of poke, I won't be too rushing on the MR.

item 3110 is not bad, It's just a ball of passive stats = boring for me, I like clickies and item 3025 for the fun factor when i play support Sona...

They Probably exist, but I really only need a poke build. The instant shield from her W make trading with enemies allot more easy. Throw in some MS to get in and out faster.

Yeah, that's the rough part! It's like, I lose A TON of AP going tank and my heals aren't as strong, but i'm able to land some really good ults because i'm able to position.

Part of the reason I go with plenty of MS is for better positioning. Also a Flash Crescendo can be just as effective as a flash tibbers.

Agreed. It definitely helps. Especially since getting the most out of your auras means wanting to stay in the middle of your team, which is generally near the dangerous frontline.

I still remember when I played Ascension: I went AP Bruiser sona and hugged whoever was ascended the whole game. I was hard to kill, they were very difficult to poke down and all in.

Being more AP heavy is more fun for sure. But yes she can play the role of a tanky person due to her massive natural utility.

Yeah it's good. It used to be a lot before prerework when her aura gave armour/MR and had a stronger heal on a lower cd for less mana.

I main Tank Sona. Usually i build item 3301 and item 2049 then item 3117 , after that a item 3024 and item 3211 , then i'll Finish item 3025 , item 3065 and item 2302 after that when i was playing Hexakill for Durability and damage Plus CC i Built item 3116 but honestly after IBG and SV and the Eye and Boots you just build situationally.

Since you basically need an aegis item and a frozen heart/zekes on most support, you really should be building sort of ap off tank.

Tanky AP sona is a hidden gem, especially with max cdr. my fav build is item 3027 item 3110 item 3158 item 3190 item 3116 item 2045 roa being cheaper soon will be interesting you could swap stuff out for item 3065 item 3143 if you want
