@Meddler: Why is Leona's Incandescence tied to her ult and not her W?

Back when the changes were first presented, it was shown that Leona was going to get her Incandescence effect on her Eclipse, not her Solar Flare. Why was that changed?

I feel her W would be a better place to have the Incandescence since her ult was always designed to be a hard-CC initiate. Why tie an attack steroid onto it when it feels kinda clunky?

Just looking for some context as to why it was designed this way and not in a more convenient, more openly-available thing.

my question is, Why does it apply on hit damage instead of her passive like is was support to on the PBE IIRC. Do they want Solo Lane Leona to be even more powerful?

I think it applies both. You deal on-hit bonus damage which also applies Sunlight.

Even so, it feels weird when it's tied to your ultimate.

It'd be way too strong on her W. Having that up every time u press W would be ridiculous, at least the way it is now.

I think it only gave you one attack's worth of Incandescence per use of Eclipse, or the amount you got depended on how many enemy Champions you hit with Eclipse's burst effect.
