Bard Chimes New Idea?

Ive played nothing but bard for like 10 games now and i find more often than not id rather chase down chimes than participate in the game.

This got me thinking

Why does bard not get chimes like a jungler gets devourer stacks?

If bard got chimes on objectives like baron / herald / dragon / scuttles / assists / kills, he would be much more likely to cut down on the roaming and be more present in games.

I enjoy playing bard as a jungler / top laner which most people find absurd, but to each their own... but even as a support, Id almost still rather roam for chimes 99% of the time than not because once you reach 110+ chimes, they actually do heavy damage, you have 4 of them so they become super reliable in fights, they regen at a good pace...

But most of the time this is only achievable after 45+ minutes of a game, which i enjoy longer games, but other infinite scaling champs like kindred, sion, veigar, and nasus can stack much much faster... like... MUCHHHH Faster for exponential benefits.

In a season where games tend to finish super early and quick, why not ramp up the speed with which bard can stack chimes?

Well...because bard was literally made on the basis on having a roaming support. If you look at his lore and cinematic, bard doesn't care for anyone else besides the universe and himself. He roams around collecting chimes so that he can gank other lanes.

Strongly recomend you dont spend 99% of time chasing down chimes. They last 10 min and also unlike veig or nasus we are talking about a cool down of 160 seconds to get permanent stat upgrades, if they build up your more likely to get a path of reachable chimes that provides a strong move speed boost allowing for some wicked ganks. They only upgrade in sets of 5 so if your losing gold and exp to grab them every time they show up, even every other spawn is not a good use of your time. Personally i recommend folks learn to manipulate his spawns. Yea its random but you can move back or away from jungle walls to help control getting "suicide" chime spawns. Now there are exceptions, if your oom its a good time to grab the closest chime or two, that would have impact on your lane. if your backing and have enuf time to snag one far ish chime and recall before the next set spawns, can be good unless jungler or mid poise a threat, or its on frequently warded locations. Its not really about the infinite scaling, its the utility they provide. The damage is nice, but the power spike for me is after he hits 55 chimes. That adds an additional 45% slow and an extra 175 damage from the 3rd meep. Also 60 brings an extra 105 to him then 65 is where his kit start to piss people off as he has Q then three meeps at 60% slows to delay hommies..

So TLDR the ability is not good for scaling up into 1 shot damage like say nasus or veigar but will provide a strong powerspike to him around 28/36 min into game pending on ability to collec, and that its a mistake to consider this as if it was an infinite scaling champ, think more like its ability that unlock over game time.
